I opened account at Alpari and now I testing strategy at microlots.
There is one problem:

If I buy e.g. EUR/USD at price 1.2750 (0.01 lots)and then sell it at 1.2780 I get Profit only e.g. 2.2 USD or even 1.2 USD!!
I checked order prices and there is really 30 pips profit.

Have somebody same experience???

I used CMSFX before and never had same problem.
alpari uk uses 5 decimal places...so review ur entry and exit again...
but if it is 30 pips with 0.01 lots it should be 3$ gain....

I know it, but I used four places for better explain my problem.

Prices are 1.27500 and 1.27800 of course.

Onu, if you read the post above yours, you'll see "all their servers were down". "All" means "each" or "every one". Their dealer desk rep. said "all the servers", very simple.

@fulltime: I don't see anything extraordinary in expecting a market order to fill within 1 pip during a slow market... Until recently, this was the norm with alpari...

is anyone else getting tired of the requotes with Alpari at the moment?

I was long the cable 5 min at midway tough euro session and got 16 reqoutes in a row... by the time I got out my 20 pips was 9...

Also on the eur/usd i am getting requoted a fair bit as well. I have a HotSpot demo up and the spreads were tight at that time.

Market order is not available at the moment at alpari. I am waiting for mbtrading's MT4 platform.
On Friday I was stopped out on a short on USD CHF

 Stop Loss trade was 1.7560 stopped out at 14:28 when the high of the candle was 1.7528 1.7560-1.7528=0.0032 3.2 pips

I assumed SL was executed when the level was reached and emailed alpari with the price having headed south to 1.6928

Their explanation:

''I can see that you had an open SELL position on the USD/CHF pair. This means that any stop loss or take profit you have connected to this open position would be a Buy order and would be connected to our ASK price, which trades the spread higher than our BID price(price on the chart and the price you sell at).

At 14:28 the high on the chart was 1.17528, which means our spread was 1.17528 / 1.17568. Your stop loss was filled once our ask reached your level of 1.17560.''

I noticed in Alpari US, only 10 pairs are tradable for micro account, what about Alpari UK?

Requtoes have drinen me to this. It's to hard to trade now on a 5 min time frame.

I am moving to ATC Brokers MT4 with an ECN feed. excelent spreads 0 on the e/$ at times. ATC have moved there feed to FXCM. belive it or not the feed smashes Hotspot out of the water...

The feed is the only thing that ATC and FXCM have in commen they're seperate companies.

I agree with you! the Alpari feed has gotten terrible!! The requotes are bad enough but the 3 to 4 minutes reset time is worse. the 'requote' and 'off quotes' problem is out of control.

Only atc, mb mt4, and fxdd mxtreme left to consider.

As I'm probably opening an account with alpari for my longer term trading (I only open/modify entries/stops once a day) - I'm quite interested how the executions are on stop orders (both entry and sl)?

Hi Mikkom,

I never used a stop entry with them. But for 10-11 months every trade I took had a limit and stop loss attached. I was never skipped or missed on these orders when they got hit they were executed every time with out fail. I was trading on 15 and 5 minutes.

honestly....platform has been pretty shitty lately, freezing and slippage....

Looks like alpari just eliminated possibility of using under 0.1 lots on bigger accounts. Somehow their cumbersome account opening process (took me 1,5 weeks to get account open! And they asked same questions, asked same documents that I already sent and every reply took 24-48 hours) was a godsend.

Compare this with activtrades that I decided to try after alpari started to look no to so good in my eyes - it took about 2 hours to open an account (besides they are also FSA regulated and have fully segregated accounts which is a big plus). I'm still waiting for MBTrading though..

This is a really bad thing if you want to use wider stops and decent money management on smaller accounts.

edit: It would be interesting to know if they allow partial closes so that remaining positions are under 0.1 lots.

This is one of best trade! Lot of times I have profit 0.01-1 USD from 40pips (400 with 5 decimal)!
