O.K. I will make this my last thread concerning politics, obviously this thread of late has more to do with political rants than trading E/U. Got a short limit order at 1.2555 will see if it manages to take it up there for me.

Good trading everyone lets see if this Friday is going to be any good for me the last few where no so good and I just watched on the sidelines.

And that's one of the reasons why the S&P 500 is getting trashed on a daily basis. Why on earth are you blaming the short-sellers and criticising politicians for not stepping in? Short-sellers bring balance and truth to the market.

You short-sell currencies? So where's the difference in shorting a currency and a company's stock or an index future? In the past, currency speculators/traders have been blamed for destroying economies, through causing rampant inflation, high interest rates and stagnant growth. It's very rarely the case, as the problems are nearly always down to serious fundamental flaws, which the markets merely expose.

Equities are still over-priced on many fundamental measures, likely forward p/e being a prime example. What we are seeing now is a huge delevering of the credit bubble that accumulated in the past decade, a time of total excess. Short-sellers aren't to blame for Bear Stearns, Citi, HBOS, Lehman, RBS and Wachovia blowing up their balance sheets, rendering them totally insolvent. We are likely approaching a multi-year recession, possibly depression, so shouldn't the level of the S&P500 reflect this outcome?

Depending on what tf you are looking at and what tp you have could be good could be bad, but thats again up to you maybe more info a chart and so on could help giving you answers.... and welcome to ff

i thought one of those post was funny.. after all one vote one voter.. we can elect the village idiot.. as we had in the past... being able or having experience running anything is not a requirment.. now do want to bail or sink this ship.. its your vote.. most of us voted and when you point a finger theres 3 more pointing back at you..if you vote for the village idiot.. whos the blame? the idiot or the voter?

In recent days, I have seen on Italian television, a service relating to the house prices in an American city ...
I do not remember the name of the city.
However, in summary, two-storey houses were sold at $ 6000.
Is certainly an extreme case.

This because the poor former owner could no longer pay.

If this is the result of those who have managed the politics, I do not see how these can criticize those who short the market.

The best thing that can happen to you is to find out where you're wrong.

Agreed, you cannot blame the short-sellers when you hear these kind of examples.

But you cannot solely blame the politicians. What about personal responsibility? The blame lies with many parties; banks, impotent shareholders of those banks, central banks, politicians, banking regulators, mortgage brokers, greedy consumers who borrowed too much, fraudulent borrowers and brokers, the securitisation process and not forgetting the massive global imbalances of the past decade that led to the huge accumulation of private and public sector debt in the Anglo-Saxon economies and surplus savings in the emerging and gulf economies, which was recycled again and again to further fuel the bubble...

The list goes on....
