..so much for the American dream..Bush was never meant to be a President and Obama is not doing any better either.

I have no confidence left in this congress and this white house. They can not cope with the magnitude of these problems.

They have unlimited sources in the US and overseas to squeeze the Shorts while they are sleeping but who has the knowledge and the expertise to do it. It became a one way trade that short the S&P and collect the profits. This country's financial markets are getting raped daily and they are just watching it.

We needed a leader who could walk the walk but so far it is all talk. Their first priority should have been solving the mortgage mess but not with this kind of attitude. Screw me and the others who make the mortgage payments on time, at least so far, and save the ones who fail. The sad thing is, to be able to qualified you first have to default your loan.. what a world...

I won't be shocked to see Dow at 5K with these incompetant politicians of ours.

I have a dream "one day dow will be 14K and nasdaq will be 5K" NOT..

The part that all of his adoring sycophants overlooked as they elected him a president of something was that; He has NO experience running anything, ever. He's just an air head liberal college professor who spoke better than his opponents. He has two wars to handle and the combined miltary experience between him and his congress co-conspirators (pelosi, reid) is ZERO. They all escaped the military and they all obviously flunked ECON 101? Now we're paying for it a trillion dollars at a time?

You're probably one of the lucky ones that has a job and can make your mortgage payments.
Don't forget though that the ones that are screaming now that they don't wanna pay for their neighbors mortgages, could be in the line for help next month if they lose their job.
That could include you.

Most of the Forclosures have very little to do with them being UNEMPLOYED.

I have a coworker who bought a house for $700,000 just 2 years ago. The same house now sells for $450,000. He STOPPED making his mortgage payment. You know why because he will NEVER ever have any equity in that house in the next 10-15 years. I know bunch of Real Estate Condo Speculators that they owned 4-5 of them at a time. They all stopped making mortgage payments and not because of being unemployed or having no renters.

Because they will never have any equity ever again..

The first thing I'd have done would be to throw Christopher Cox into Prison, and fine his estate for the return of his complete salary while Chairman of the SEC. (I'd probably do that to some recent past SEC Chairmen also.) Secondly, I'd make it illegal for the stock exchanges to process any trade where the seller is sellling that which he does not own....(goodbye Naked Shorting)! And thirdly, I'd make all short sellers that have outstnanding uncoverd shorts more than 5 days old, cover them.....even if they are some of those "forgiven, grandfathered uncover shorts from the past....all 100+ Billion Dollars of them!

and LOTS and LOTS of ninja loans (no income, no job, no assets) that the democrats (clinton) and obama, personally, sued the banks into giving to people who couldn't afford to own a home and still can't. Now 'we' get to pay without even being sued? They also pulled the rug right out from underneath the income property owners who lost millions of renters. Obama is a huge part of the equation since he was the ACORN lawyer at the time who made this possible and it's irony that they would have 'him' sign the bailout for the destruction he personally had a hand in causing?

There is truth in your statement. I complain about having to pay the mortgage of others, but if I would lose my job I would be in that boat in 7 or 8 months. The fact is that I would love to help the people who lost their homes due to this economy, the responsible homeowners who got screwed by this fall. My issue is with those people who gambled and lost. The people who earn 40K a year and decide to get an ARM and buy a $400K home with the hopes of selling it off in less than 5 years for a nice hefty profit. Now they are crying that the Real Estate Agent lied to them, or the big bad banks should have never given them the loan they asked for.

Even that woman who, with the help of ACORN, broke back into her foreclosed home to regain control. After investigating it, people found that she only paid $82K for the home, then a few years later she took out a loan on it for $270K. She was outraged when the rate when up after that, she didn't pay, she didn't abide by the rules of her bankruptcy and she was foreclosed on. Now the new Obama plan wants us citizens to pay for her home. Basically we are paying so that she could rip off the bank over $188K dollars. And this is their poster child...imagine what else is out there.
