here we go, numbers out in 30mins but japan is starting to move.

futures JYM7 is bouncing of the lows, for the month, bang on the 50ema on daily charts. it has room for a nice move up

I'm tired of cable!! Tryin to exit with some profit buy they just don't let it go... it's to overspeculated right now I suppose. These choppy (I like TEBs word) moves doesn't make much sense :/

so you need quite a nice down but generally I think they should get back to june/july levels and we want see 2.000...

yes I think you're right, it will go up before it comes down and maybe june is just a bit too soon

Hi guys,

Firstly I just want to say this is a great thread and thanks to TEB & everyone for their insight into the system.

I just have a quick question for everyone.

Do you guys take trades against the daily stoch?? I know its against the basic rules of the system, however I see in TEB's other thread he talks about trading just using the 4H & 30M TF...I'm just curious as to how many of you do that method and how successful it has been?

Also for example the AUD/JPY trade that was talked about yesterday, was this trade based on all 3 stochs lining up?? If so can someone post the time this trade was taken.

Ha! No, didn't lose any yesterday. I prefer to trade the 30 min, so if I don't get nice set-ups, I simply don't trade. No big deal. With proper $ mgt, you don't need to nail too many of these a week to do very well for yourself anyway. I'm not trading today or tomorrow either as I am on the road. But, I will be checking in periodically to see how you guys are doing. I'll be back trading on Monday!

yes this was a choppy day but we can gain from it

today I made many successful trades

5 in G/J : 3 short, 2 long
2 in E/J : shorts
4 E/U :2 short, 2 long
1 USD/CHF: the last one I talked about with TEB = +35 pips
1 short on chf/jpy
1 short eur/chf
1 long aud/usd
2 in G/chf : 1 long, 1 short
1 long in U/CAD: the one I talked about with HOSS = +14 pips

and only one lose
1 U/J = -8 pips

yes what a choppy day

I know one rule

NO RISK NO GAIN

one thing the group will be a great idea
I say before we need a team

what about a paltalk room TEB??

some people are doing 4 hour / 1 hour / 30 min so treat the 4 hour like a day stoch

but I will take it on 2 stochs ( 4 hour & 30 mins)
if price is on the wrong side of the 50ema (red ma on my charts)
normally I like it way over

& I want the 4 hour stoch to be around the 50% or better /less going the way of the trade
& I want the candle formation to go with the trade
better still a big tail going with the trade

but it is a more risky - you are not trading with longer term trend
if you just stay with the 3 stochs till you feel good about the system
you will win lots- you don't have to go with ust 2

I took the trade yester @ 19:38 I believe its GMT. Thats the the time on my IBFX. BOTH THE 30m AND THE 4H LOOKED PERFECT TO ME.

ENTER 94.23
EXIT 95.03

Total 80 pips. I chickened out....I could have stayed in. Its huvering at 95.13

I need some clarification: The rules as I had them when I programmed the EA are not working; the system fails miserably under the following rules:

This is for using the Stoch(5,3,3) on Daily, 4-hour, and 30-min charts.

  1. Check the daily cycle: If the %K > %D and the %D has just crossed above 20, then we have a BULLISH daily signal. (Opposite for BEARISH).
  2. Check the 4-hour cycle: Same signal rules as the daily but applied to the 4-hour Stoch.
  3. If the Daily cycle is BULLISH and the 4-Hour cycle is BULLISH and...
    If the %K > %D and the %D has just crossed above 20, for the 30-min Stoch, then we have a BUY signal; so GO LONG. (Opposite for short orders).


This was tested on EUR/USD dating back to 1999. Why does it fail? Well look at the attached chart. There is clearly an up trend yet the system keeps trying to sell, to go short. This is because look at the Daily stoch on the chart, it is in the OVERBOUGHT region, so it is giving BEARISH signals. The problem is that the stochastics (as well as most oscillators) have a tendancy to "stick" to the top side (overbought region) during an up trend and vice versa for a down trend.

Now I don't doubt that this general strategy of multiple time frames with one indicator works, in fact I like it a lot. But there must be some rules you are applying that I have not considered...maybe you are applying these rules subconsiously, but let's try and uncover them. For example: Maybe if the stoch is overbought and gives a bearish signal, but then later turns back around and crosses back above 80, then that should restore the bullish signal...

Any thoughts?
