I did okay too, but that's all for now 'cos it's bed time. Tequila + beer was the answer......should have done that earlier and saved myself some time

Hey guys, I've been horribly sick and therefore haven't been near the computer in a while. I noticed this mini rising wedge developing on Swissy though, which is right below the large one that cracked to the downside. This is a 4 hour chart...

This could be pretty significant once broken, any thoughts?

buy the rumor sell the news it seems. that explains this run up from the low to the high with a weak attempt at breakout. so sell the news may happen now...in any case i remain flat as i still hold no bias..

First line was too optimistic.
Second line tried to hold at 1.2752, went to 1.2762 and come back again to 1.2681.

Bulls are trying one more time and broke some hours ago my last hold line at 1.2740, so and now.

Now price is trying to retest my lines above!!

Now must go to 1.2755, cross and if we see again 1.2688, big possibility for this time Bear start to grunt again!!

I will not add more shorts, only above 1.2800 or break of 1.2662.

none sorry, i trade the eur/usd exclusively and a big part of my strategy is judging the strength behind the bear and bull movements (the psychology). having not watched that pair in months...i dont even know what patterns are common on it. sorry again =/

Yeah I'm on that too. I'm going for long term target 1.1850 with SL 1.1560 (below the current bottom range and last significant resistance).

Sorry guys, this is U/C discussion so my last post on the subject....here anyway

Guys, I was only bringing up USD/CHF because of its tendency to be inversely correlated to EUR/USD.

I figure if this rising wedge breaks down again like the last one, we would see a large run up in EUR/USD.

Sorry, I thought that'd be assumed, my bad for not being clearer.

when i first started trading i used to follow correlations big time myself. eur/usd, usd/jpy, usd/chf, gbp/jpy, aud/usd. i even had multiple positions running at the same time, based on these correlations. i figured...why make pips on one pair when these correlations can give me pips on 5 separate ones. man how wrong was i..i lost money fast that way

the main reason for this is because of the different personalities of each pair. eur/usd is somewhat predictable...its range is usually 200pips or less in a day (many exceptions in these insane days of course) while a pair like gbp/jpy has a range sometimes 3times that. not only that...patterns develop clearly on eur/usd while on gbp/jpy moving from swing high to swing low back to swing high is common practice.

add on top of that the many false breakouts these days, lets say that wedge you meant broke down for 100pips ..falsely only to come back later and return within the range...you would already have your bias formed about what eur/usd should do and chances are you are already in a trade.

sorry if this post was too long or unecessary, just bored at 3 in the morning and sleeping proves difficult..thought id share a bit about "my journey" haha.

2761 had been broken, I thought we are going up, had +20 pisp - and now -33 in just few seconds, but i'll wait - if it goes few pips down I'm reversing ma trades :nerd:
