Europe start to talk about bank's nationalization more times!
I have said to everyone who have shorts near last top at 1.2990 to hold that shorts.

If this start to drop below 1.2670 and close the Month below 1.2500, no one will look back!!!

good points....was i observing correctly.... last Friday i believe is when talk of nationalisation was taking place...the markets tumbled...but the dollar got WEAKER, it was weird.....does that mean anything? or am i recalling this falsely... would the nationalisation of banks break the link between the markets and the dollar? would investors not see US$ as a safe haven if banks were nationalised? I wish i understood...anyone which to comment?

friday could have a million reasons as to why the dollar weakened so much, to pinpoint one..hard thing to do. there was that gap that wasn't filled since sunday and on friday gold tapped 1000$ if i remember correctly. could also be the rumor of nationalization (which started friday)...in any case lets not look at friday as its not conclusive as to what moved the market.

on the other hand..your questions...im very curious myself...im not big on fundies so i want those questions answered as much as you do...preferrably by someone who trades fundies and has been in the game for 10 years +

You know I don't trade funnymentals either but I agree you can't read much into what a market ($US in this case) does on any one particular day.

Bloomberg had some big financial guy (I should but can't remember his name) who wasn't impressed with Bernanke's statement, saying as long as you have US govt on board of directors, then that in essence is nationalization. While I don't quite agree with his statement, it sounds like he views any govt involvement as nationalization. These banks want to have their cake and eat it too.
