EUR/USD Daily Update Feb 17, 2009:

EUR/USD dropped like a rock during Asian session. However on release of ZEW German Sentiment the market rallied only to fall again.

EUR/USD DAILY chart closed with a long RED candle, suggesting bears are in control. We are right now in a support zone 1.2600 - 1.2549, could see some bounce in the short term.

On HOURLY chart we have made a double bottom. If we can push above 1.2630, the apex of this double bottom formation, based on technicals we should go up to test 1.2672 as 1st target and 1.2699 as 2nd target .. (see attached chart)

For EZ we have only one major report scheduled, the MPC meeting minutes. Therefore we should see mostly technical trading during EURO/London session till NY opens, where there will be Report release on Housing Starts, Building Permits, Fed Chair speaking and FOMC minutes. The EUR/USD should move on these reports.

Well, of course, so one knows... but...

Jacko (one of the Mentors here) would say we are trying to break through that 600, as the even hundreds are often psychological points. We will probably hover here a bit, make a little retrace up, (if we break 600), and then spiral down.

Of course, like all opinions on 4x, thats BS.

does anybody see any up movements? is this more of a correction with the stock market?

By my fundamental analysis europe is in a lot bigger hole than US, I am beggining to doubt a retracement back to 1.4xx, and the whole world "recession" looks to be more like economic armagadon, and as much money as each gov pours into their economies it's not gonna fix this mess...
