With this "Stimulus Package" being voted on today, can anyone tell me why would it be good 4 $? . It means that the country national debt would just be increased.

The person (Rob Booker) who showed me this setup, enters on a close below the box, with stop loss a close back inside the box. You will get a few false entries that way, but with a tight stop. When it does go, it goes nice.
He calls it a "Squeeze Box"... see how the MAs are tightly wrapped, or squeezed?
I just modified it a bit to suit me, and possibly get earlier entry.

I don't have an opinion. Trading is too unpredictable, but if I were guessing on the side of the dollar, I'd point out these two arguments:

1. The world looks to USA to lead, so they could perceive that the stimulus package is big progress, and therefore progress in world economy will follow (weak argument).
2. Lately, every time Fed, Treasury or Congress does something that they think is good for the economy (read - SPEND), Wall Street reacts very negatively. The stock market takes a beating, and that should be good for dollar.

My only other guess would be - this is Forex - get locked into an expectation and you get THE OPPOSITE.

My two cents.

You're right about that my friend. This thread has really settled down over the past couple of months. Not so contentious and sarcastic any more. More civil, more productive (except for that guy I have on ignore).

Thanks for explaining. I like the set-up. I'm just chicken. Been working with smaller stop losses lately and doing better. Less reward but less risk; small account that I'm trying to grow - not lose.

I think that what we have seen from the recent past tells us that whenever there is a good (perceived as one) news on the US economy/bad bank assets it sparks risk appetite immediately which in turn is an immediate bull run for the euro.
Can anyone following closely the US agenda tell me when exactly the announcement is scheduled (can it be seen online) and if there is any "leaks" on what it might be. Remember the beginning of the week when the details were missing and the reaction that followed. In other words I think this announcement will have a significat impact on the pair. What kind of depends on what will it say or not say.

I am not a fundie, just my 2 pips.

During unsettled times like this, investors (we are not investors, we speculate) are "risk averse", note the lows gbp/jpy is trading at. They flee to the perceived safety of the USD, and gold. ie: the recent lows of eur/usd
If the "Stimulus Package" works, and investors think the world economies are getting back on track, we will in time (maybe sooner than later) see e/u trading between 135xx - 140xx.
Like I said, just my 2 pips.

We are now below 12850... I have not entered, have not broken the decending TL on 5 min.
