I grew up with a 10 gallon tank in an Austin Healey. $2.00 filled me up from EMPTY with Shell and I got a dime back in change. If they were havin a Gas War, I got 3 dimes back.

The old timers were gripin about the price of gas then too.

Thx, I didn't know you could do that. For the record, I use both FXCM Tradestation (freezes quite alot) and MT4 for charting.

Hello all,

I am a newbie to forex so please try to forgive me if I ask stupid questions!! I am in my 8th week of demo trading which I started with a (virtual) $2k, and now I have just doubled my (virtual) money.I haven't taken any losses yet, although some trades have taken longer than I expected to show a profit.

I must confess that I am very confused with the various chart drawings that I see here.....flags, pennants, head & shoulders, etc etc and I am assuming that these chart drawings and the various interpretations of the charts are more to do with long term forecasts???

What I am doing is looking at the live tick chart, the minute chart, hourly and daily charts in the FXCM interface....for a good couple of hours (whilst listening to the latest news), before making any trades. My approach is to get and out quickly and to be satisfied to make $20 per trade, if that's as far as I believe it will go. Sometimes I make $60, sometimes $10. My goal is $100 per day.

Am I doing ok, in your opinion, or am I being silly and just having a run of good luck?

Thanks, I just wanted to see if anyone had an opinion on how the stimulus might affect the EUR/USD in the next week. I do my own analysis and trade very short term so any speculation on what price may do beyond the next hour is for curiosity sake only. My hope is simply because I don't want to see the U.S. collapse....

glad your here.. check out the weekly using lines on the chf.. the 62% retrace has been hit and actually surpassed.. c what you think.. i got that mabe going down plus a big W on the eu monthy.. im thinking a big bear bull fight then maybe reverse.... excluding all the market noise right now..let me know

I'll give you my very humble advice:
going real you'll take the first losses cause it is impossible at the beginning being detached from money and fear to loose.if you already doubled you initial capital you are ready for live trading,try to use just 2/4% of your money each trade,use as many indicators you wish as you will realize (sooner or later) they are unuseful.Look always at price action and support/resistance,gain confidence in your strategy (you must have one to succeed),be ready to loose and never give up.good luck.

Sounds like you're doing really well ..you seems to have forms some good habits right away. Small amount are really good to start. All the other stuff you hear and you can and will learn alot from these guys ... is call TA..technical anaylsis. You'll naturally progress to patterns, pivot points and Fundamentals..look at you local bookstore and on the net for info and books as you progress.

Thank you all for your advice, links, and welcome :-)))

When I take this 'live', in a couple of months time, my funding will be the same as the demo account...ie $2k. I have the attitude that it is $2k that I can afford to lose, so I, hopefully, won't stress too much if and when I take a (hopefully) small hit on the chin!! After all, who among us hasn't blown $2k of some stupid purchase in our time?!?!?!

I will read through as many of the links as I can, as well as looking online for some relevant books for bedtime reading.....and I'll try my best to not bug you all with silly questions...promise!

Now, where's my coffee?? ;-)
