first post of an entry on a demo account....just looking for 10 pips

I guess it was countertrend on the 15m and 5m, so a 'not for faint-at-heart' guys(?), but 15m fast trix had just turned up, 5m had just had a divergence, and I waited for the 1m fast trix to go green again

the vertical amber line shows on each TF where the buy was. Red line at TP.

still hasn't reach target yet. I'm in eastern europe, so i just remembered that it's only 6:45am in NY, but it is the london session afterall too.

it seems the trade has gone against me for the moment....was i crazy to take this? How should I make it more of a "sure thing". Wait for the 15m to turn down again with the trend? Probably answered myself...

now getting a bear divergence on the 5 m....but the 1m has gone green again...

Hey;
If I Understood You Right, You Go Long When Price Is Below The Coral On M5 , (Also In M15) So You Should Seek Out For Short Entry. I Only Scalp Under This Condition When It Goes To O/S ... The Rules Are :

"Above Coral only long, below Coral only short"

I Believe That It's Important To Work With Two TFs, So We Filter These Trades ...

I use settings 90,10 on M5 TF and 95,5 on M1 TF, as I have found it very often signals the end of a move, particularly on M5 and I don't think TRIX is especially good at showing overbought/oversold.

p.s. My chart looks different as I am red/green colour blind on some shades so I have changed colours - actually the shades used in THV V3
i think the overbought\oversold worms have been removed cause they sometimes don't give an accurate exit sign ... the fast trix changing color is more authentic in my opinion.

and bud i am a color blind too (8% of men and 1% of women actually are) ... no worries ... u can cope with this very easily

Hi Sleepy:

I do not have a chart up but I am looking at your screen shots...

The analysis was good. As you mentioned 15 green trix and 5 min showing divergence etc...

Having said that...if you look left on the 15 min chart you would see and area of support which will now become resistance in your long position. The resistance may not show up in the 15 min as a red candle or even in the 5 min but almost certainly you are going to see the resistance in the 1 min.

In your 1 min chart I can see that you entered when the red trix was crossing down.

Entering on the 1 min should have been after a THV setup and a clean break of that resistance...

What do you think?

I am trying to get some kind of mental flowchart regarding the rules to this system as it is still a little hazy to me. Would I be right in assuming the following when scalping using the M1? I will assume a set-up for a short.

1. Look for the fast trix on M5 to cross the slow trix and both turn red.

2. If not already crossed, wait for the fast trix on the M1 to cross the slow trix (both turn red) and HA candle to cross the cloud. Ideally PA should be below the coral.

Would this be correct?

Hi sleepypipCDN,

that 1.2930 area was a very strong suport/resistence before (area likely to change traders sentiment from bull to bear and vice versa), take a look at your charts, and was also the MR1 for today, PA had already tried to break it once, no trade, then tried again, no break, then I took it right after the change of fast trix to red on 1M chart

that was risky, perhaps I should have waited for better confirmation, but I was feeling very sure of the fall, didn't think it would fall that much though. I just let it run on 5M.

Plus, there was bearish divergence on 5M and 15M chart

I guess that was one of my best trades this month

You have the answers to the needed rules 21 candles before the one you have marked on your chart...

- Trix having crossed each other and being of the same color.
- Trix preferably having crossed the zero line.
- PA below the cloud and the Coral.

For 3): you can take re-entries if rules are still met, and Trixes pointing on the right direction.

4) OS/OB conditions alert about a possible turn of the price, but if rules are met and M5 setup is clear the entry is valid (could you post a specific example with both TFs?)

Can someone tell me the properties of the coral line then?
I attached a trade i took that failed. Any advice? Was it because it was going into R1? Thanks alot.

From the Manual:

In my newbie opinion, it looks to be a plain moving average, which is simply just trying to let the user know if it's a bullish or bearish market trend for that given TF.

Yep, that is what I was wondering so can put a similar MA on there, I dont care what color it is. The coral wont work for me, everything else is fine.

Hi Jerome,
The 'worms' only show up when the value YOU set is hit. There are no lines. If the value is not hit, you should see nothing. To change the settings Edit THV Color RSI from the Indicator list and change the values of variables overBought and overSold. Experiment with your own values and remember it is not perfect. I like it because I can set my own values and when it shows up I know exactly how overbought/sold the situation is. Trix only shows a general overbought/sold area.

The little multi indicator gives a look at other time frames. If you work on a laptop or a single screen machine, this lets you 'see' what is happening without having to change TF so often. For instance if you are using M15 to follow a trade, the indicator will show you what's happening on M1 without having to switch. File is attached. Hope this helps.

p.s. Best to try and use as few indicators as possible. The more you use the more confusing things become and the less decisive your trading (usually) becomes.

Good day everyone. I wasn't here earlier as I was busy watching trades.

I saw a couple comments about people wanting to change or remove some of the THV indicators. While this is fine for experienced traders, keep in mind that if you make changes it will be difficult to compare charts and trades on this thread. We like to provide support here but may not be able to help as much if your indicators are missing, changed or other ones are added. Further, if your chart is different than the standard THV issue, if you post your chart please mention what is different about it so that newbies don't get confused.
