[FRENCH INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION] fell further in December, dropping -1.8% m/m from a revised -2.8% in Nov and taking the annual rate to -11.1% y/y from a revised -11.3% previously. Forecasts had correctly predicted the monthly fall but had seen the annual rate only at -10.7% y/y.

Swiss bank UBS AG said Tuesday it lost 8.1 billion Swiss francs ($7.57 billion) in the fourth quarter and announced it would cut a further 2,000 jobs as it refocuses on its home market.

This 2900 is hard to break. So when it does, I will wait for the 15m to close above this level and go long.

[GBP] a few points lower in early Europe, perhaps thanks to the scaremongering FT headline that the recession worst for 100 years, Balls says. Balls is former chief economic adviser to UK PM Brown and the govt could well face more criticism of 'talking down' the economy. Trade data the main UK focus this session, the traditional Gbp negative expected to draw a deficit of Gbp 8.1bln. This will follow earlier mixed UK numbers, i.e. a positive BRC like-for-like retail sales 1.1% y/y in Jan, but a series low completed sales, price outlook in the -76 Jan RICS house price balance. Gbp has been a favourite risk appetite currency in the last week or so. If this theme continues a 1.50 test can still not be ruled out.

Head and shoulders pattern looking like it could form here.

I'm working on developing my inner bar breakout trading rules. We broke out and appear to be moving up, so my t/p is at the shoulder of where I believe the H & S pattern will develop.

There are many other reasons as well but too long to type here.

U talk yesterday about a journy to the up side man,,,,now u see it will go to 1.2500??

The Trend is clearly down until we break above 1.3330 ,, So what we see is just some up retracement before going down again,,,I read some technical reports said that we will break above and going to 1.40XX before going down again,,,what is your opnion on that?

We've covered 3/4s of the 4 hr bear bar. If it is a bull trap, someone is using a lot of pips to do it.
