Not a bad idea. What's happening for the Eurozone is far from pleasant but it's the lesser of two evils over the long run. Zero rate would be a disaster.

Earlier on in his speech, Fisher warned that unemployment may exceed 9%, with consumption cascading downhill.
9% would be catastrophic as the actual unemployment rates are always a point or two higher than reported.

I'm short this very moment on the pair but year over year, I'm a Euro bull.

everyone keeps sayin the dollor is going to gain strength when the bailout come out but if i can recall the last time they passed one the euro skyrocketed

I don't know why Driver55 would say not to buy the Euro.

In spite of all the problems in the Eurozone, in spite of Greece and Italy being for all intents and purposes insolvent and in spite of Spain's real estate mess, the Euro could be the best of the worst.

It doesn't appear that way right now. But it very well might once all the American Stimulus package(s) money is spent. Obama may have the best intentions in the world but bailing out institutions and corporations when they should fail is not only akin to giving heroin to a junkie, it reeks of socialism. There is no free lunch and that stimulus buffet will have a massive bill in the end.

It looks good for the dollar right now but I don't think it's viable in the long run. I have my account denominated in Euros for a reason.
