Why do i mention this, because certain patterns repeat themselves nonstop and they usually have a cycle. up till november or so it was mostly triangles including the triangle that broke up for 2000pips (for those who recall it). Missed most of december but lately in january and even now in february the pattern that has been played most is the M or W reversals (double tops or double bottoms). On the one hour charts i see the same thing, a double top...

if you read one of my posts like ten hours ago, i did say there is a potential W in the making on the 4hour charts, which marks a reversal at the low and a potential return to 1.39. Trust me, I have no idea where were headed next, this week has been choppy and correlations to everything else were lost....one of the hardest trading weeks in recent history but still...i hope im right too, after all im short

The [RUSSIAN] govt is considering injecting around RUB 1.2tn (USD 33bn) into its [DOMESTIC BANKS], taking the states' stake in some of the banks to +30%, Kommersant reports. The govt has already handed out RUB 950bn in subordinated loans to banks last year, FinMin Kudrin has said, and it is reported the new injections could take this form. KommersaNt reports Russia's largest bank, Sberbank, had requested RUB 500bn and that this had been approved Tues. Today Russian deputy PM Shuvalov said the new banking support measures are not ready yet and Russia has no plans to create a [BAD BANK]. Recently CBR has sought to limit the amount of Rouble liquidity to try and prop the unit, (CBR's injections into banks last year has been blamed in some parts for the large capital outflow), but further bank support will add pressure to the Rouble, which continues to hover near the CBR's 41 trading band.

no offense to you when i say this but please tell us your reasons for entry with that target level, we all can make calls but they have alot more validity if they can be backed up by indicators/observations/data. Hope you understand. (just making calls is not helping anyone learn anything and thats the main purpose of forex factory, comparing data to improve our own strategies)

Today's [SPANISH SERVICES PMI FOR JANUARY] came in at 31.8 against a prior read of 32.1, the second worst number in the history of the survey (November's reading of 28.2 the worst). According to Markit, the readings for new business and workforce also fell at a record pace, second only to November's declines. On the upside the input price reading of 49.5 was the first ever negative reading.

[EUR/USD] holds just below 1.30 after Spanish PMI services deteriorated to 31.8 in Jan. Another soft number, but clutching at straws it is well off Nov's series worst of 28.2. The Euro has been a broad loser so far in Europe. Japanese life companies have been fairly aggressive Eur/Jpy sellers, while despite the spectre of another likely BOE interest rate cut this week models and a UK clearer have been selling versus Gbp. The overall EU PMI number is expected unchanged at 42.5 later, with EU Dec retail sales forecast at another sombre -0.2% m/m and -1.4% y/y. Lower, but not expecting any breakouts in the headline at this stage, with decent size downside stops not seen until sub-1.2950. Call it an approximate 1.2950/1.3030 market for now. Last at 1.30.

I would consider it Bearish, unless it closes above 1.3025. Then I might have to turn my cap around.

The [NIESR] in its latest projections paints a grim picture for the UK economy this year with only a modest recovery in 2010. The f/c's are in stark contrast to Chancellor Darling's optimistic pre-budget numbers - which pencilled in a recovery by the third quarter of 2009 - and in line with the equally bleak IMF f/cs of last month, which also expected the UK to be the worst affected economy in the global downturn. The NIESR expects a 2.7% contraction in 2009 followed by positive 0.6% growth in 2010 - not a V shaped recovery but something resembling a pancake. Given the severity of the recession, Darling will have to greatly revise his public finances outlook, the NIESR suggests PSNB could hit 8.7% of GDP in 2009/2010 and to 9.5% in 2010/2011. Public sector net debt is f/c to rise to 70% of GDP (from previous 40% govt limit) and puts paid to PM Brown's boasting of having one of the lowest debt ratios of advanced countries.

when it comes to ranges there is no up or down. there is just strong support and strong resistance and possible the midpoint between those 2 levels. someone who has been in the game a long time and sees that takes those opportunities and buys at the low, sells at the high. it is unknown when the range will be broken and in which direction. chances are...by the time breakout happens you have already accumulated alot of profit. if breakout does occur and you get stopped out on your last position...no regrets you were expecting it to happen. once that breakout occurs...you wait for pa to go in breakout direction, come back to retest the breakout walll (the support or resistance) and if that level holds, pa will bounce off of it and continue in the direction it broke...that retest is what you look for when yo uwant to enter. at this time....note we are at the lower wall again...the smart play here is to buy (i didnt)...even if a breakout will come soon
