If equity markets rally I will be looking long. Until tomorrow though there may be a chance to get back in closer to 1.29 or lower, IMO..

[AUST DATA REVIEW] Building approvals disappointed by falling a further 2.9% in December. The fall was substantially weaker than forecasts on a 2.5% rise, but to a certain extent came after Nov's disconcertingly large 12.8% drop was revised up sharply to a lesser 10.2% fall. Sector wise, approvals for private sector houses fell by -2.3% to be down a hefty -24% y/y; while volatile private sector other dwellings eased a further -2.8% on the mth to be down a steep -49.4% on the yr. Whilst the data is renowned to be volatile, the underlying trend has remained firmly negative, reflecting tightening credit concerns and the deepening global economic downturn. The Govt's grant to first home buyers starts and aggressive rate cuts should eventually have a more positive impact on approvals; but with any improvement expected to be modest at this stage. 00:34 GMT - The [EUR/DLR] eases through 1.3000 to 1.2986 on profit taking before rebounding back to the figure area. Offers are generally noted at the 1.30's. Bids start around the NY reactionary dip of 1.2936.

The [AUD/USD] rose a tad from a pre-data level of 0.6490 to 0.6510 on a mixed bag of data with retail sales coming in at +3.8% m/m which is well above market expectations of 1.4% but building approvals came in at a disappointing -2.9% vs market consensus of a +2.5%. Market players believe that the A$42 bln stimulus package and the RBA 100 bps rate cut will go a long way to jump start the sagging Aust economy over coming months which will help to support the pair. Earlier buying and selling orders will continue to keep the range.

it be nice to see a higher retracement before it takes another dip. however, it can go either way. i have a couple short positions, and long positions, so it wouldn't matter which way it goes for me.

hehe like I said, there will be plenty of opportunities to trade. I am doing nothing, but hangin'. I would love to get long again around 1.2750, but not likely witin 24 hours
