[14:48 EUR/USD: Shorts Covered But 1.29s Still Intact] London, January 30. EUR/USD edged into the 1.2890s ahead of the latest US data but spot only managed to trade to 1.2898. Covering from a US name is touted but the inability to push into the 1.29s and the slightly better than expected Chicago PMI could hamper the chances of a snap higher into the Michigan Sentiment release.

OK, everyones ideas on where this pair will be at the following times,

12pm EST, Do we break 1.3000?
430pm EST, -Do we break 1.3185?

Reason is my friend and I are looking to make a bet, loser has to pay for drinks ALL WEEKEND, tks.

Set a break for Long, see my charts and my lines.

When a break occurs, you can enter with two trades or if possible to reduce then only one trade, fine, then after the break go for few pips for one trade, close PF for other with some more pips above and then set a Mental SL to the rest of the trade with few pips below, set new line after the first break and after that break do the same, this time set SL at BE.
Stop Playing with your money.
This is a strategy for traders that likes to scalp only, you must set your lines correctly or else you will get burned!!!

i say it will hold pretty strong at 2805. trade your charts/trends. dont trade the media.

The [BOJ] has released its twice-yearly [REPORT] assessing financial markets. The report notes that despite govt and CB steps to ease credit problems, global financial markets remain strained, and it is extremely unclear how long and deep the downturn will be. The report points out that measures taken by various countries have not swiftly improved financial market conditions because the accumulation of global imbalances are so huge, and many Western financial institutions were faced with fragile debt structures. Recall, the BoJ decided to buy corporate debt to ease corporate credit strains, however many companies still complain of tight funding conditions. The BoJ Deputy Governor Kiyohiko Nishimura signalled yesterday that more could be done to help companies, such as trying to lower longer term rates at which they raise funds.

[ECRI US LEADING INDEX] ECRI's US leading economic index fell by -0.2% to 107.3 from 107.5 in week ended Jan 23. The weekly drop was led by higher jobless claims, higher rates and lower stocks but partly offset by commodities. That left the smoothed (4-wk mov avg) annualized growth still in deep recessionary territory at -24% although up from record low of -30.4% in early Dec. The latter was the worst since early 1949 when the ECRI began to collect the data. This suggests a deep and prolonged recession. Note most recent OECD's composite world lead indicator (CLI) is down to level consistent with the the worst global recession since 1974, with strong downturns flagged for China and Japan.

I took a punt on it going up, was very uncertain. I am short now from 1.2867, have taken two lots out and hoping the last one will run down.

I should not have been tempted away from my first analysis of the day (short).

..... Until BE, but do not forget to take some PF after new low of about 22/32 pips.
We may see a resistance after new low, I doubt it, if no, so we are going to 1.24xx area!!

My lines are holding to the pip!
This will drop, if it is a fast one or a ziz-zag one, impossible to say, short all time it reached top TD.

Editing: Next resistance and important one is around 1.2733, all shorts may close some PF around here!!
