I will go short if price below 1.3190

[EU ASSET MARKETS] carrying on with buoyant tone from this morning with all classes showing healthy gains. Stocks markets still near their peaks of the day, financials leading the way on the hope/expectation of the creation of a bad bank for them to deposit their unwanted paper into - FTSE up 94 at 4288 and Dax up 160 at 4483. Bonds boosted by poor Swiss KoF this am (-0.87) and lower than expected prelim Jan German CPI read (-0.6% m/m and 1.0% y/y) with Bunds up 54 at 123.26 (lo 122.59/hi 123.39) and Gilts now up 71 ticks at 118.41 (lo 117.66/hi 118.58). Short-end also firm with sterling strip making steady gains all day, up 4 to 10 ticks, and Euribor also holding firm, +5 to +9 ticks on the day.

1.3193 is the 61.8% Fib on the move back to yesterday's low (3117).

I sold @ 1.3279 because we have a double top against 1.3330 ( a powerfull resistance) on top of that we have a bearish diamond pattern that we just exited. my target @ 1.30xx or depending on price action .

if they say, we think oil will be 25 a barrel in 3 months.. what do you think would happen....it would be...and sooner then 3 months..

[OIL] The plethora of Davos comments continue with the Venezuela Oil min again highlighting their hawkish views and propounding OPEC will cut again if needed. Sees a target prices in the Usd 70-90 region (current price just a tad under Usd 41.50). However, NYMEX paying little attention and yo-yoing with current ranges ahead of the US weekly crude stocks data. Focus will be on whether there is another mammoth rise in crude stocks after 6.1 mn last week - expectations are for a woolly 2.8 mn with distillates off 1.13 mn and gasoline up 1.75 mn. Meanwhile, [GOLD] has edge up above the Usd 890 handle - some chatter of Mar 1100 calls being initiated out of NY with more stacking up between 925 and 1000.

yup...anyway...waiting for the bar to close on 1H chart. SMA-5 trying to cross with GANN. QQE already crossed and trying to move down to 50.00 next candle direction will confirm the downtrend...another 40 minutes to go...

Just closed out 50+ pips. Price just bounced off of todays Pivot Point at 1.3226. Im looking for price to run back up to the 21 EMA before I determine another entry.

In terms of flows European centre sellers were followed up by a US investment house selling to the lows. Talk also that a Swiss investment name has initiated a technical sell recommendation, and also of a left had side fix at 16GMT. All this accompanied by more Asian interest to buy Usd's this time vs Aud and Gbp.

Gasoline missed big time. Yesterday refiners were talking about shutting down even declaring BK.

The [IMF] Chief economist has said there is still room for lower global interest rates, but room is diminishing. He notes that governments should consider unconventional measures to unlock clogged credit markets, and that the global economy needs very large fiscal stimulus in order to counter the economic slowdown. More decisive action is needed to rid bank balance sheets of bad assets, says Strauss-Kahn, and whilst it is complicated to value bank assets, it necessary to do so to clean up balance sheets. On a separate note, the President of Kuroda has said that 2009 would be the bottom for the Asian economy, and sees China growth slowing to 7-8% in 2009.


[NZD/USD] as rallied in recent trade on talk the market has been caught short ahead of the RBNZ due later tonight. Whilst consensus goes for 100bp cut, some locals look for a more aggressive 150bp cut and have positioned themselves accordingly. As Aud/Nzd unwinding ensues however, the doves may have been spooked in late European trade. A large US investment bank has been spotted in the bid, along with a UK clearer.

whew closed AUD long flat on this bounce.

for those interested the eg is at the end of a (30 min chart) descending trend..and near a daily pivet..might break lower.. or not.. check it out..

1.3225 is 23% fib on the daily chart.
If that one breaks then we can go down to 1.3040 short-term (weekly pivot point) and then to 1.2765 area.
Trend still down (just about!)

Watch 225 closely and go short on significant closes (4 hourly bar) beneath this level.
