assuming this plays out and neckline is drawn correctly then this is what we could see.

Not according to the line charts. That's about the only way i personally have high confidence in that pattern anymore is if it can be confirmed by that style of chart.

The other factor is more subjective, but on a TF like the 1 hr, I'd like to see one more clearly formed. If price goes up in a sideways range for some length of time after a drop or rise, it gets too sideways to pick out clear features. Just looks like typical ranging or consolidation action at the new level(s) until it gains a direction.

The 1h shows a clearly decending channel off the red TL, the others are a bit of a mess with everything still hanging ar'd the critical S/R levels where it could break either way technically... comes down to what do think about the funnymentals of the thing imo.

I'm still bearish if anyone was to ask, but at this point, it's becoming somewhat irrelevant... a several hundred pip channel over many weeks is just that...

Thin black line is price, Bright straight red is primary long term TL, purple is secondary TL.

Crookedy green is Gann Hi/Lo, everything else is various MA's (Magenta on 4h is 89sma)

The 1 hr is the clearest picture atm, but the 4h could get interesting with a bounce downwards off the 89sma... just something to watch if you can stand these ugly MT4 charts.

In the middle of an ice storm here, and not trading today. Cheers.

The only candle of any signifignace on my charts was the 2nd hour of London opening 4;00 est which usually sets the tone for the day.

Hello AK4X. Long time no talk to you. Assuming you're still in TX, I have a dreadful story about Texas ice storms. I sat on a plane on the runway for 5 1/2 hours in a Dallas ice storm once upon a time. When we finally got airborne, we flew 2 1/2 hours or so to Richmond, VA. My final air destination was supposed to be Norfolk, but they decided that the pilots had hit their ceilings on time, and they bused us to Norfolk, well after midnight. Not a happy camper.

Sorry to digress. I see I just missed a monster move. Deservedly.

4H MACD and ADX are getting weak and looking ripe for a shorting.
15m and 4H have both been stopped up at the 89ema for a bit.
4H hasn't had the guts to break it for 8 hours now.

Lets see where she goes....
added another short at 3205 when it traced up.

strong short signals off the 5M and 15M adx and macd.

lets see if she hits the DP and lower tL on the 4H

Failure to get new highs, figuring on weaker commodities for tomorrow, I think 1.29 is next long entry, IMO

[CANADA BUDGET] The budget for the 2009/10 fiscal year announced by the Harper govt pledges C$22.7 bln stimulus, or 1.5% of GDP, in 2009, and C$17.2 bln, or 1.1% of GDP, in 2010. There will be a C$1.1 bln budget deficit in 2008/09, C$33.7 bln in 2009/10, and C$29.8 bln in 2010/11, C$13 bln in 2011/12, C$7.3 bln in 2012/13, and a small C$700 mln surplus in 2013/14 for a cumulative deficit of C$83 bln over 5 years. The debt/GDP ratio rises to 32.1% in Mar 2011. There will be C$19.9 bln in permanent personal income tax cuts over 5 years and C$1.9 bln in business tax measures. There will be C$12 bln in new infrastructure spending over 2 years and C$7.8 bln for housing construction and renovation. The govt also will commit an additional C$50 bln to a program to buy insured mortgages and gave itself the authority to inject capital into banks and financial firms that need support.


[US STOCK CLOSE] Broad market enjoyed more gains in otherwise below norm flow and so-so breadth. The Nasdaq paced the rally, gaining some 1% while the Dow closed 0.7% higher. Up-stocks slightly outnumbered losers, suggesting iffy buying conviction among big funds still. Most major S&P sectors advanced, led by financials. Healthcare and industrials were not far behind amid bets that hammered valuations reflect a worse-case on the economy, with major govt stimulus coming from Obama/Congress by end-Q1.


[NORTH AMERICAN CLOSE] All said and done a relatively subdued second half compared to earlier proceedings as pairs stagnated near respective pivots. [FED ON FORECLOSURE PLANS] Fed Chairman Bernanke, in a letter to House Financial Service Committee Chairman Frank, said the Fed will extend its own foreclosure relief plan to home loans held through firms to which it provides bailout funds. Specifically, the Fed will allow reduction in principal for some mortgages held as collateral in rescues for Bear Stearns and AIG.

[LOOKING TO THE FOMC] Former Fed Gov Mishkin, whose thinking is close to Bernanke's, has said managing expectations is more important now than interest rate setting. Dec 16 FOMC minutes noted "added clarity" regarding Fed goals might help in this regard, which has led to talk the Fed may extend its economic forecasts beyond the current 3-year horizon, as a sort of modified inflation targeting program. In the Dec FOMC statement, it noted that inflationary pressures had diminished "appreciably" and expected it to "moderate further" in coming qtrs. Risk of deflation creeping into some Fed members remarks like Yellen, adding to urgency about not allowing inflation get too low and a step towards some sort of inflation target could be in the offing this year. If so, we would see the results in the minutes of this week's meeting.



Demand for air travel continues to weaken as deep fare sales in recent weeks have not spurred customers to open up their wallets in droves, Delta Air Lines Inc. executives said Tuesday after the world's biggest carrier posted a $1.4 billion loss for the final three months of 2008 and signaled the revenue environment for 2009 will be challenging.

have you checked this one out lately? might be worth a glance..u/c day chart on chf is bullish the trend line from sept til dec was strong bullish.. it retraced in dec and now on smaller charts resumed bullish bias....short term tp maybe 1.18 possibly longer term just on the lower trendline...

So as I expect,, daily close is down the upper band of the down channel at 1.31XX ( 1.3159)

Be prepared now Guys for a weekly close with in 1.2860 :1.2950 Range before next week test of 1.2550 support.

I would think maybe more in the 3013 area.
The DP, 3095 area really has no major S/R there.
The WP, at 3013 has alot of Support in that zone.

I'd look around there.

But when it comes to scalping, I don't look for an area specifically.
Just read the Indis and get in and get out.

Looking for a bounce there would be smart though.

agreed but i would not put eu testing 1.3250 ish plus once more.. and gu even higher like 1.4345ish.. so sl would be generous
