it's a choppy and volatile market
USD is strengthening these days without particular reasons, up and down 100 and more pips moves a day are becoming ordinary issues in this market, and I suspect it will last until the global economy does not show signs of clear and stable recovery

Indeed, the EUR/USD went up and down yesterday quite a lot, summing up the 2 major swings, almost 400 pips!
looks like Russian authorities are selling Euro heavily in order to substain the RUB

So you would expect a continuation of the down trend?
I've been out most of the day, just came back in and saw that spike up, backed up on the charts for awhile and decided the only way I'd trade this session is by itself.
When price is in this consolidation/ranging mode like it's been recently the last couple days, i've often seen price make a run from one pivot or so either side of the DP to the other, and it can be pretty violent looking.
Many folks start seeing breakouts and chasing trades, and about that time it turns and slaps them going the other way. Pivots, Quarter pivots and fibs work great as they are there before price is, and i'll start setting limit orders with tight stops (10-15) to catch the moves at the indicated levels.
Usually works pretty good when that is the PA for the session. I'm not saying it is yet, cuz I don't know, but the signs are pointing in that direction and that's what i'm watching. We'll see.
i really liked that spike... fib the whole move from bottom (2950ish) to top (3037), then fib each 5m candle for grins until it stabilized...
