I know that euro is less than 10 years old, I was refering solely to wikipedia.

The History, Role and Functions of the ECB:



"January 1999
Stage Three of EMU begins; the euro becomes the single currency of
the euro area; conversion rates are fixed irrevocably for the former
national currencies of the participating Member States; a single
monetary policy is conducted for the euro area".

1.35-3530, It should be in a trading range between 1.3380 and 1.3500-530.

What's up with you finding wikipedia not a reliable website? You provided a link to a site that gave euro figures for a period that it didn't exist. The euro never hit 0.65. All time low is 0.8227

Whether or not a basket of currencies or just the deutschmark is used, the numbers given are fantasy.

Wikipedia is not a reliable site... furthermore deuchmark was replaced by euro...read Market Wizzards by Schwager, you can find it there.
Please point out to me anywhere in my previous post where I said that euro is more than 10 years old.

Reading the post you just quoted you would realize that euro was a direct replacement to deuchmark...hence the continuous chart. Now drop it.

Yes I agree it replaced the German deutschmark along with 11 other countries:

Belgium, Spain, France, Italy, Ireland, Luxembourg, Holland, Austria, Portugal, Greece and Finland.

You just wont drop it...so I will ask you this last question...how did the euro take on its value against the dollar? Did it not just take the same value as deuchmark when it replaced it?
