ask still was 10 pips from my stop. i understand they can always blaime the news and related spread increase, there is no way to prove or disprove it. that's why all of them are in this business, after all. it does not matter, i just thought i have to show it to the public, kind of anti-ad for them, that's all.

Easy pal! Not all brokers are same. You just have to pick a right one which will satisfy all your trading needs. Again, there are many brokers around.

Well Pal, I take trading kind of seriously so I dont use free charting packages, I use the ones you have to pay for.

That's exactly what I was doing.
But why should I pay $100-$300 a month if I can get all features that I need for free? Of course it would be great to have Bloomberg station but I'm not really ready to pay $1700 a month or even more for some extras.
For example: I like to analyze 3 hour candle stick charts, but also at the same time and in the same chart window, I like to see smaller - 1 hour candle chart within the 3 hour candle.

So far this is the only system that allows me to do this.

Looks like IBFX will have higher spreads than normal all day today....e/u is 4 pips g/u is 8 pips u/j is 6 pips.

AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU TOO IBFX.....

Does anyone know why the spreads are so high. IBFX still has a 4 pip spread. Oanda is about 2.5 pips.

I thought we would be back to normal today.....

IBFX is pure bucketshop. If they can find any way to profit on us traders, they will. All other brokers I checked today had normal spreads except for IBFX. They are just creaming a few extra pips on the spread and then blaming it on low liquidity. Right now their spreads are 8-10 on GBP/USD, 4 on EUR/USD, 6 on USD/JPY, 7 on USD/CHF.
I trade EURCHF on a small mini live account at IBFX

I understand the market is a little crazy right now, but a spread of 23 pips?

IBFX is just running their business like any other (or most) FX broker, all this mess has to be counted in as a necessary evil if you want to trade Forex at this time. You'll just have to make great trades to gain back the pips you lost.

No, I have account with IBFX and Alpari and I think IBFX really suck comparing with alpari in terms of execution and widening spreads for no reason, I will close the account next week.
Just because there is no volume at all, can't hold that against them can you?

why did'nt I hold that against alpari?
why did'nt I close alpari account because slip and requote but IBFX?

Because alpari is occasional and ibfx let me want to break my mouse.
Each time I approach my T/P, the spread widens so much that it's almost impossible to hit my T/P ... Lately, their spreads have been deteriorating ... I thought it was only temporary because of the holiday, but I think I'm wrong.

My main reason for still using them as a broker is the fact that I live only a few miles away from their office. In general, they suck right now ...
no problems here.. small spread changes during news, 15 pips on eur/usd during NFP today but thats no biggy.. easy to trade around it.

Hmm, I must say I also get now a lot of Invalid prices, Off quotes and what nots if the position is in favorable direction.. and I have 3 pip slippage on, market moves like 1-2 pips during my order execution and still fails..
I have had more off-quotes than usual as of late.

A little off the subject, did anyone get a holiday card from IBFX this year? I was skipped this year. Other than the pocket calendars that IB sent out not one broker sent me anything. Maybe it is the bad economy.

What do you mean by invalid prices? I dont think I understand what you mean.....
