How many billions in leveraged hedge funds redemptions need to be brought back to USA? Has the panic ended for good on an alternative strategy for redemptions in foreign currency, or will the dollar buying surge again in the new year?

It's not all that noisy..you can spot or guess professional activity around important price level using 5min chart evry tools is important.
Sure it is noisy. Given the volatility lately, and the thin volume due to holidays the 5M fluctuations are just noise. I will be looking at larger time frames to determine my next position, but if 5M works for you, then more power to you.

Three years ago when I was trading ym, I always exited my position if Bob Pisani's opinion coincided with mine. Bob is basically a fade indicator.

It is more a euro than dollar thing.
However, negative releases from US and european geopolitical situation has great influence.

i dont trade based on 5m but i cant place an order before looking at it.

Be careful of a bull trap! Euro is heading lower now, it is clear it fell from 1.47 in 5 waves from the .618 retracement, moved up in 3 corrective waves, and today is falling in 5 wave impulsive movements. Price action this past week has been corrective, this was just a bounce, the main trend is still lower, once the FOMC rate change wears off.

ECB will be forced to lower interest rates soon, as worse news is expected. Smart money is shorting the Euro according to COT, and Eur bond markets are being bought by the big players.

If your using MT4 just put the ODL .SRV file in your 'config' file and restart - you'll get oil, gold, stocks and more!! (add a new ODL account)

Euro strength and dollar weakness is caused by the ECBs lack of anticipation for further easing and negative data in US economy.
Big channel between 1,4275 and 1,3877.
