In all honesty you should not be trading if you want to depend on someone else's advice. It a quick way to lose your entire account value.

Hate to disagree with you, but I think that Monday will be yet another down day, maybe of lesser magnitude. But Tuesday may be an up day, at least that is what I am seeing right now. Only time will tell.

After breakout the cup and handles pattern format (H4) , EUR has strong increase, to reach the 61.8% Fibonacci retracement, EUR has to adjust back to the level of 38.2%. (Draw from 1.65 top to 1.244 bottom).

Draw next Fibonacci retracement from 1.244 bottom to 1,473 top (H1), EUR rate has decreased about 38.2% likely to be recovered about the level of 23.6% (equivalent to 1.43) today.

if EUR unsurpassed level of 23.6% likely a large inverted way to go is down else exceeded EUR likely will increase again strong.

Hello,gamut bottom of Friday (1.3825) I was open sell position on eurousd.
but the last minutes,Euro increase to 1.3922.
my Equify is 170$ and my position is -100$.this means if market uptrend to 1.3970,my acount will be call margin.
What your mind about my position?
what is the best reaction?
1.since opening market,I open a hedge position (Buy),and in proper position,I close one of positions?
2.since opening market,I close my sell position?
3.I keep my position,because odds market will be downtrend?

you should mind your money management next time sir..

ermm..i'm not considering myself as an expert.But this thing happened to me too in my early days..

so this is what i do.

1)Open a buy post and lock the loss or you can close it when you think this is the right moment means that the trend are going to downtrend after that

2)try increase your margin

3)Stay focused and not be emotional about your loss

I don't know how you can lose that much.

1.3922-1.3825=97 pips ???

You should start learning about money management or be ready to lose your account sooner..

Sorry to hear your situation. Me too not expert... just rookie trader. I have only several advice...
1.Never trade on Monday and Friday (Prefer Tue and Wed)
2. It's all about you emotion, ask your self why trade demo can succed why real can't?
3. Money management...

those make my trade work very well (sometime)...

It looks like you have placed too much of your account at risk. If you are trading in a mini account with $170.00 of equity, as a new trader, you should never risk more than 1-2% of your account equity. Somewhere earlier in this thread I set-up a math formula for use to determine your lot size. I will try this again here using $1000.00 as our account balance.

1000 x 2/100(2%) = $20

To determine your stop/loss:

$20/ pip value.

Pip value depends on the leverage on the account.

If you are trading, for example .01 lots on a standard account with 100:1 leverage, each pip is worth $0.10.

If this is our example this would allow you to have a stop loss determined as follows:

MAXIMUM LOSS ALLOWED BEING 2% =$20.00 SO,

$20.00/ $0.10 PIP VALUE= 200 PIP STOP/LOSS WITH A MAXIMUM LOSS TO YOUR ACCOUNT OF 2%, OR $20.00.

Well the price action looks to go higher before it turns again. If you are using mini lots @ 400:1 leverage then it means that $25 dollars is in reserver for your contract. This gives you a room of $45 before margin call. It seem that euro will go higher before turning so you are likely to get a margin call. You are way too overleveraged for your account size, so I suggest that you close it and open a micro account instead. This will give you more room to develop your system and trade (in other words you can sustain more losses before getting another margin call).

Better yet, once you close the account open a demo account and paper trade for a while. It will instill confidence in your system (given that you actually make money on demo), thus allowing you to better control your emotions when you are in a losing trade.
If you are really just starting out and have no clue as what to do, then search on amazon or your local library/bookstore for some trading books on the subject. This will give you a base to develop your system and money management skills.
The most important aspect to note is, if you are not profitable on a demo account DO NOT open a live account, because it will guarantee that you will sustain further losses.

I understand what you are saying, however think about this... It will only take one trade to wipe your account clean, due to overleverage. Therefore decrease your lot size substantially to give yourself room, because everyone losses, regardless of experience.
Big profits should come from consistency, not risking an unreasonable amount of your equity.
Hope you take this into consideration.

Why do you want to gamble with high risk? With $170, and patience and money management, can be alot of money in awhile. Taking big risk = possibility of big loss, or complete loss. As Cobra would say, BE PATIENT! You will eventually grow your account, but by risking what you are risking, we will not see you long from now unless you put more money in.

I'm not hear to tell you how to spend your money. But I assure you that Gofer Pips and Pyramus are telling you in your best interest.

I have never met a long term profitable trader that did not place Risk Mgt as a top priority.
Also...Pyramus figures seem to be on or near the mark as to where Euro will move for the short term.
His retracement of 38% can go as high as 1.4050...if we look at the drop from 4283 to 3900 levels.

For the time being..we will see much indecision as to long term trend. But...I do see it has retraced an overall 50% from the 4700 level from the 4hr charts..if it Breaks the trend line ...we may see new lows within the major support areas....testing downward...but if we see it hold..and continues to hold..we may see continuation of Bullish behaviour.

As some older traders have stated...trade using your head..not hope and a prayer...that never seems to work. At least in my past experiences.

I agree I am not the best at this game but I have had wins and losses and I think the only way I have been somewhat successful is to stay out when it is questionable and keeping my account risk to the lower side. Now I am competitive even with my self so I like to wild west it here and there but not to the % degree that you stated. Also they are right we will see consolidation or retracement for today into tomorrow maybe all the short week but I doubt it. I think just today and through the london session then we will see more upside through the new york session. But there is a leading indicator in the DOW trasportation avg. that set up a wedge and is heading to the downside which will boost the dollar so to put it bluntly lots of indicision at least on currency make short trades on good setups but right now it will be tough trading until next year most likely jan 2 lots of good news stuff to trade on.

condensed version: They are right. I experianced the same thing. Retrace consolidation. Hard to trade for long term. Come back next year trade jan 2.

This euro rally may resemble the one of USDCAD, i know i know its a different beast but pattern is a pattern. at point 1 there was consolidation and once price broke out it climbed up rapidly after which there was sharp retracement ( reversal at point 2) and day closed above fib 38.2 level after which price continues in upward direction at the same rapid pace.
