I paper trade AUDUSD and GBPUSD. Alpari have now made them to 5 decimal places, why? Is it just to up the ante?

They have only done this on demo accounts as a trial to see how it goes. :ive accounts are still 4 decimal places.

Not sure what they are trying to achieve apart from screwing up indicators. If they introduce this to live trading I will be moving elsewhere.

Today Was expecting drop i take short gbp/usd and gbp/jpy IN same mint hit my SL no more one pip the drop down more than 100 pip
Maybe bad luck May Stop hunt!!!

Many Requots more than 20 time today, Slow execution alot of time

Last time answer my mail after 2 days.
Not sure how much their bank charge!On there web site guys not from EU 6 GBP but my deposit less than 37$

Yeap. That's what I've heard from other people. But you can't blame them... It's crazy market. All trades are expecting a huge slippages and re-quotes..

For users on live accounts with Alpari uk,

Are the pending orders (limit/stop) restricted to 20 pips and 30 pips from the market for the EU and GU respectively? This is what I'm seeing on the demo and would like to confirm if it's the same for live accounts.
I need to put up stop losses.

No. It's 2 & 3 pips live. It will show as 20 & 30 on demo because their demo uses 5 decimal places. live is 4 decimal places.

Affirmative. The minimal distance for placing limit and stop orders is the width of the spread.

I'm demo'ing an ALPARI account and i'll probably either open one live with IBFX or ALPARI, which is considered better?

Also in regards to ALPARI, when i place an order it says all this crap like verifying etc, etc. is this normal? The order takes 2-3 seconds on the demo acc while on IBFX demo it's instant. Another thing, in regards to the 'connection' speed. The smaller the number the better it is? or does it have to be higher.

You might want to try out MBTrading, my experience with them has been positive. Based in US, professional trading platform, rapid execution, and I think the minimum deposit is less than $1k so should be ideal for entry level traders. On the negative their spreads have been high lately so you may be better off trading with a fixed spread broker at some times of day. I have no other experience with the 'ECN' brokers, but from what I hear people rate Hotspot highly.

Another thing that irritates me about Alpari.co.uk is their platform opens one hour later than the Asian market open on a Sunday night, which throws some of my line studies into disarray, and also if I needed to make some adjustments to a trade on open I would have to sit on my hands until it came online.

Alpari is registered with the FSA, for what that is worth, but then so are the growing number of spread betting firms that allow betting on the financial markets. With some great mobile applications (particularly with the iphone on IG) and the taxation advantages for those of us in the UK, these firms are definitely worth considering even if they are explicitly bucket shops (ie. bookies).

I'm on Alpari UK with live account from 3 month.
Before the new year I was satisfied with their service, orders fill enough quickly, almost no requotes.
Now with the new 5 digit service they have not kept the spread that say on the their website, see EUR/GBP is 5, not 2, GBP/JPY is 12, not 7, EUR/JPY is 4, not 3...., i get almost requotes or invalid price, and they peak up or down quickly the price to close my order when it's near the stoploss.
I am really disgusted.

I just sent them an email, I'll see what they have to say.

I think I will close my account.

I hate the 5 decimals but that is probably what is causing your requotes. The price changes so much quicker so you will need to change your deviation settings under Tools/Options.

True about the spreads. The 5 decimals was supposed to give better spreads (1/2 pip) but if anything they are worse. The only reason I stay with them is they are UK based and no annoying Sunday bar.

You can try e-mailing them but they won't give a shit
