DislikedHello AK4X. I've always wondered but don't think I've asked. What is the difference on your chart between "Central" and "PP"? If this has already been answered a long time ago, please excuse me - BUT TELL ME ANYWAY.
Thanks.Ignored

Dislikedcentral is the price at the close of the day.
pivot point is the average calculated pivot.Ignored
DislikedYou're already pre-excused on a permanent basis there shortbus..
Sorry... Central pivot or CP is simply the opening price at 5pm.
When the range between the CP and the Daily Pivot ((either DP or PP)) or any of the other usual pivots is great enough, it often works just like a regular pivot, especially in relatively slow ranging action like recently.
The greater the range, the greater the effect. When price opens right at or very near to any of the other plotted pivots, it is irrelevant and redundant. I don't worry about it at that...Ignored
DislikedThanks for that explanation, as always. So, I'm kind of preparing for the effects of the "central" when I draw fibs from daily open to yesterday's high, and from daily open to yesterday's low, right?
Add: That said, am I wrong in assuming that not many fibs have been respected over the past few days? For example, I usually plot yesterday, 3-day, this week, last week, last month, but they really haven't helped lately. Am I wasting my time with these or is do you think this time period is just an anomaly?Ignored
Dislikedno you are not wasting your time... Fibs are very important.. I use them all the time.
when that happens to you it indicates that price is going to the other direction... you are looking for fibs retracements where price is retracing fibs of a much higher timeframe (weekly for example)
Fibs from previous day range are very important for intraday. I update it if we make new highs or lows so they will become a fib from yesterday low to today's high. or yesterday high to today's low.Ignored
DislikedOK, thanks again. I also draw fibs for the latest trace, so to speak. The most recent high to the most recent low intra-day.Ignored
