hey dra, I took same entry on 1hr time frame last week and got 1:1.5 but i think
there is another opportunity to enter again in 1h tf, this i will try to see it to 1.618

Caught this one for a good run. I know I should not have traded this since I have already met my weekly target but just happened to see this over a discussion in a chatroom, so I decided to enter due to the strong bearish bias. My bias was due to the daily chart.

Posted below was my entry from the 1 hr, and 4h chart showing why the trendline was not breached.

Hi,

A very very very good setup came out from EURUSD on 1H. It made a good evening star on the trend line and also on the fibo retracement of 50. Price then went down for about 200+ pips.. A very good setup..which is..sadly missed again by me..

Hope next week gives us better trades..

Actually the signal came as indicated by the arrow
the right hand side of head and shoulder

Good one. If you check the 4H you will also see a great 4H entry, ES formation earlier this week. My entry close at target 1:2 earlier today while i wasnt around, theres still for it to fall.

Yeah. I took both EU and CJ...very good.

Was so close to hit target on eu that i removed tgt to set a trailing stop to 20 pips ....

The usdcad 4H is showing a possible crown formation. Break of the up TL and now testing below the previous high. This is a good one by the charts, its likely we'll get a move to the downside come next week.

Good job. A 20pip trail stop is too small when trading 4H time frames, your stop will be reach as you set it in most cases. You should consider giving the trade space to breathe.lol. Just as how we use "protective stops" you could also use a protective trailing stop.

first of all, thank you to dra for posting this excellent strategy.

i'm a newbie and have been lurking around for a couple of months. i stumbled upon this thread about a week back and have just finished reading through it all.

but i have one question i was hoping dra (or someone else) could answer. it may have been asked/answered before and quite possibly have evaded me but here goes ...

what do you guys define as an inner trendline, outer trendline and long term trendline?

having read through the entire thread including the all important post #43, i still couldnt pinpoint the answer for the above question. any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks for that Dra - that does make a lot more sense now.

Most ppl recommend trading with the trend, and from this strategy I understand that the trend is determined using the inner, outer and longterm TLs.

Given that all these TL's are drawn on the same timeframe, is that a reliable way of determining the current trend or do you go to a higher timeframe? From previous posts I know you have a 4H bias, so would you go to a daily for example, or do you simply look at the the inner, outer and longterm TL's and if they are all sloping down then its a downtrend and viseversa for up?

Thanks again. Also - I know these kind of newbie questions can get annoying but your patience and help really is appreciated.

I first draw trendlines on the monthly, then weekly, daily and then on the 4H. I then trade the current trend(this is determined by the trendlines) on the time frame i'm trading from mostly the 4H.

I'm going to study and re-study this strategy, and then see if I can start to pick out the patterns on live charts. i really do love this simple system.

i hope eventually I can get up to speed and start contributing to this thread in a real way.

And a warm welcome to iffy! Really glad you found this thread. One of the reasons why I am constantly posting in this thread is because I hope that more people can be aware of this great method of trading. Dra really gives his all in this thread and we have so much to learn here that can be really beneficial especially to new beginners.

Warm welcome for iffy..i am a newbie too in this thread..even, all my posts in this forum are in this thread..Because like you, i found this method to be simple, but as Dra said not easy.

To better understand this method, i read this whole thread twice. But, what help me most is when i post charts and then people give comment on those. Because they tell me what are wrong, and what are right. So, don't hesitate to start posting your chart here, and we will gladly help you..

What is most important in this system is PATIENCE. The setups on this method maybe are not so frequent, but once you spot it right, you get the jackpot..

Anyway, happy pipping..

This week was a perfect example of the need to excercise patience in trading this system, as these setups did take time to materialize.

Keep up the good work Dra and the other active contributors to this awesome thread/strategy.
