was this a diamond? .....i placed this line on 4hr and it hit it and bounced down.....where the lines in red drawn properly? thank u

Remember that you need a broadening pattern for a start. Here's an example of broadening bottom. The low and high market on the chart is ok, but after that you'll need a low lower followed by a higher high. If you don't have a broadening for a start, you can't have a diamond.


From the chapter about diamonds;
(...)such a conclusion can be made only
after the market has already formed the left side of the formation (which is
nothing but a broadening triangle) and at the moment is forming a second
half of the formation. The second half is also a triangle, but a regular one.

Broadening + triangle = diamond

It might try to negate such a probability by avoiding making a confirmed crossover. So far, it was successful with this task on Monday.

Seems like we had a continuation diamond on CHF/JPY 4hr timeframe. And as i did the top boarder short entry calculations - this is what ive got Right now its breaking out of the formation as i type. Did you caught this one Mr Igrok?

Yes. Price already broke out of the diamond. We had a possibility to catch the very top, but i failed.

Actually i got some thanks to price action.

I don't remember in which post Mr I. said that price will go in opposite way of the diagonal direction ... when i said that price was going down i was meaning this.... that is: did you take short based on this, or just because it broke south ?

And another thing that in concerning me is that big broadening formation on the weekly, maybe we're going to have a new low 'cause of pricetarget area (83).... who knows!?

There is a huge gap on AUD/USD at .6427. Pretty good chance to see it covered soon.

Looking at my chart, wasn't the gap closed by 13th and 16th Oct low ?

According to both feeds that I have, the gap is still there: at .6427 on one of them and at .6429 on another.

Hi Igrok,

I know you consider the carry trade a cheap way to trade the forex. But it is worth noting that for the first time since 2000-2001 (when forex still hadn't really become mainstream the) that the JPY crosses are increadibly cheap. Frankly I see more a future for the carry pairs than global equities. Of course, JPY will fall at the same time when stock falls only when volatility decreases (i.e. VIX falls). Until then playing the JPY crosses is like trading YM or ES.


The only question that remains: Will the housewives be too scared to go long again?
