I am a bit confused with therminology used in that divergence indicator given in this thread few days ago, which I find quite useful btw...

It signals this events:
'classical bearish divergence' and
'reverse bearish divergence' and
'classical bullish divergence' and
'reverse bullish divergence'

I looked up in several places and found, that 'classical' is same as 'bullish', and 'reverse' is same as 'bearish'. So what is 'reverse bearish' ?? Double negation... Is it just classical bullish? I am lost...

I think all this week consolidation was not more than a Bull Trap!

I have closed one long trade, still other with more 100pips down!
Should I closed it or bet for a up gap?

Look the 15M chart, very rare this pattern, 3 days on that!
Or drop to 1.30 or up to 1.40, that pattern is what is saying.
I still have hope to see 1.40 before 1.30, let's see where it will be by day end.
Maybe price will break 1.3500 very slowly to finished the day at 1.3520.
I wish!!!

I'm long @ 1.3410.

Will not close positions until 7 & 14 EMAs (green & red dotted lines) on the Heikin-Ashi chart cross downward again.

P.S. Notice this chart is EUR.USD Dec'08 Future.

OMG, this is much more complicated than I thought... thanks Aspire, recognizing these on the charts is going to be quite a challenge, good to have this indicator!

BTW... is anyone practicaly using those divergences in all these flovours and with these nuances in Forex? (meaning is it worth investing in mastering them?)

EUR/USD

1.3800 H
1.3100 L

360 pips for the week

360 pip divergence / 5 days = 72pip break


360 - 72 = 288 pip potential profit in place for this week.

The monthly and weekly still looking vertical with bottom in sight i wont long this pair at this time

It is worth the effort. For now, just look for regular divergence on past trading days. See when it works and when it does not. When it appears not to work, look at the higher time frames and see if there are any reasons.

Commitment of traders report has gone bullish on small player options positions.

Bottom may be near, but maybe not. see pfx global website for COT data. I am a little early but this 1.3450 level is compellign enough for now.

This 5 minute chart looks like it is saying that traders really do not know where to go with it! Volume now is only about half the same time as yesterday. Has me thinking that maybe, just maybe, everyone is confused and is going to sit on the sidelines and see what next comes in to move the market.......

Absolutely! But even with a half day left in US session, the volume is way off compared to yesterday same time. I suppose traders are simply exhausted and wisely pulling away early.

Looking at the higher time frames I conclude that the market is at equilibrium, waiting just for an excuse to break either north or south.

mikkom mentioned "iceberg order" earlier this week. i was watching most of the major us stock market indexes and that is exactly what happened for a long time...once the roof was pierced...well the dow is up 184 points right now...what does that say about eur/usd

this friday has been..too much for me to handle
