There are no rules, just price action. That's been my my hardest and most expensive lesson. Learning not to chase emotion, trends, news, etc and let the price come to me followed by hard targets for stop loss and profit has proved to be a much more successful strategy.

you all know im bullish tonight like no other. in any case heres recent price action...the downtrend was followed by breakout....now the newly formed uptrend can break out at any time...i think up but to be seen...breakout walls are clear

heres the chart again because i love thread spamming so much
if my stop loss gets hit...that means this pattern is not inverted h&s and ive had a bad friday

Mate, I completely agree with you. Bernanke is arguably the 2nd biggest idiot in Washington and he will be the 1st biggest idiot after November 4th.

heres my theory on us news. good or bad it will boost stocks up. why?..simple...the vix was at 81....all time high...stocks hit a major low and many "expert analysis opinions"(the guys who spoonfeed us the bs that the markets eat right up) say if the stock market goes any lower we face economic meltdown. in other words we hit rock bottom and if the market makers let things go even lower...they wont be able to make money just like the rest who were massively affected...i think they want to avoid that situation. stocks go up...dollar gets weaker against most major currencies but stronger versus the yen

combine those fundies with this technical pattern the inverted h&s ...a clear bottom formed at the end of a major downtrend (you could even say the start was at1.6 if you ignore the small retracements)....the eur/usd has nowhere to go but up

then again...lack of sleep may have made me ignorant to the current situation...playing against the trend...only a crazy bull like myself would do that
