if your stop loss is 1.3683 and it gaps down 150 points lets say and opens at 1.3600...your position is closed at 1.3600 not your stoploss...i highly recommend closing any posiition today as there most likely will be a gap in between now and sunday open...right now the markets are filtering out the information and by sunday a clear bias will be developed ...either a continuation of the recent downtrend or maybe even a spike up.....if your long positioned...i double highly advise you close it before market close

If my SL hasn't been triggered, I would be in winning ground by now, I guess I should widen my stops, but that bull spike really got me unprepared.

i too just closed my short for 73pip gain...thats lets see...133+73=206-80=126 for the day...not my 150 target but close enough

take note guys the channel i mentioned is very much in play....a break of those walls=the next rally

on that note...i too am out and awaiting sunday curiously....cya all and do not get caught in open positions over the weekend!

before i leave i will post this chart as i have made it tradition at friday's close


upper channel wall=1.3882
lower channel wall=1.3700
midline=1.3810...above the line bull sentiment is alive..below bear sentiment
also included another trendline created at todays low which seems to hold some significance
sundays open crucial as it may be a gap above or below the main walls....to be seen

In addition, there is a Credit Crisis Summit in Europe all day Saturday.

Would appreciate if folks from that region keep us posted with the out come.

Here is a thought for you all:

Total Euroland gold reserves--10,914 (approx)

Total US gold reserves--- 8,133 (approx)

Euroland/US = 1.34 (approx)

If we go by gold standard, true E/U value would be near this number. I heard some peple on TV arguing 2 weeks ago that gold value would really put us near 1.25 because of the way some Euro contries value their gold--but I really don't understand that. This is not a prediction, just a presentation of the facts.

How do you know how much gold there is? There has not been a physical audit of the US gold supply since 1954.

If you are referring the 8,133 number to the gold on the Fed's balance sheet, then I won't believe that too much. Those guys at the Fed are masters with numbers.

That number is all anyone in the world can use-- the number published by both central bank websites. There is no way to prove or refute it.

Is there anyone on here that does this for a living? I can't stay consistent and it's almost 50/50. I use gain capital but they seem to take half my profit. Are there better brokers?

My views for next week:

There was an inverted H&S with potential scope to 1.40 that failed because of NFP's and bailout vote volatility. There's now another potential H&S (second shoulder half formed) with the same possible scope.

There's a medium weight resistance at around 1.3980-1.4000 (M30-H1) and SMA200 will be around that number as well on that timeframe (M30).
