I hope you really think about starting that thread of yours. I can honestly say that you just helped me with my emotions (such a big problem for me). You did not bash me for being a newbie or anything like that. I'm sitting out until a new trend is defined. I look forward to your next tidbit of helpful info.

no problem...as far as starting my own thread...im really debating now since i realize my methods are unlike most others that are out there since they dont use any real indicators other then the ones mentioned in my profile. i rely mainly on gauging market sentiment and this is hard to explain

as far as my suggestions...i hope they are just another indicator and you do not follow my actions purely based on what i do....i hope you guys stick to your own strategies.

don't leave us. I take your info, as well as others to make my decision. Besides you don't want a "following". That is too stressful to have people depending on, or the notion of, and will affect your trading. that person who requests you doing your own thread wil find that if they just take a little time they will learn about Gold and Oil and mention of commodities just as I have and all of it serves to build a picture of what is going on. oh yeah, keep up the good work.

I use to not relying on indicators but now I am and I should not. Damn. Can't see where you are heading from here?

Yes, I follow my own indicators/strategies but it never hurts to have another opinion on something I may be overlooking.

I think you are underestimating how bad the proposed US bailout package is.

For a while it will overshadow everything. Other news will just cause small peaks.

And all above is just my humble opinion.

what am i doing now...what 5ysfx said is exactly what im doing...im waiting for the news lol as they could create alot of volatility followed by continuation in direction unknown...at these times...trading the reaction to the news is the best way to go since patterns lose their meaning


note: THE REACTION TO THE NEWS IS NOT ALWAYS IMMEDIATE...wait until things calm down then decide if you want to enter or not...it can go 50pips down and come back 100...or the other way around...patience is key!

I assume that I'm the person you are talking about. I have not one bit of a problem with learning about the other commodities, where would you suggest I start since you have already accomplished this yourself?

You new to sort of new traders that need help to know basic things like the question above should realize that consistently trading very short TF's with success is not that easy, it takes tremendous focus in the right environment and leave your emotions at the door.

Constantly refreshing this thread for direction and group hugs will at the very least create loss from simple overtrading and lost focus at the least, and blown accounts either sooner or later at the worst.

Thanks for sharing that. I don't consider anybody here a mean or rude person. Just someone who is trying to help and give advice on situations they have already been through.

I see a lot going on at that level. In addition it overlaps with the 50% from last leg up and today's daily PP. Lot to get through and I would like to jump back on another long but will stand aside for now. Lots of EU-red coming out in the news.

ok so the news is bad....in theory this should favor the dollar which means downtrend should continue. so how do i decide entry point?....1 is at a partial retracement to a higher value if visible or 2after the low of today gets broken


note that there was a spike below the low....this is not a real break...a real break consists of a solid volume below the current low preferably on the 5min time frame or higher

I don't have the answers to everything, forgive me if I sound pompous. Not at all my desire. These sites kinda give me an idea what is going on with Gold and oil and have seen direct correlation most of the time. when oil and gold up, euro up also. when down, people have an idea that things are good in america. I then take other info and charts posted here to make a picture. Also, I keep a list of who gives good info and who gives bad info. so far 5ysfx, acumen, psiholog, alg, ak4x are all pretty good and consistent.
