which time frames are you using to see the break & the chart , can't see it .
I see it still much up in the triangle & about to break at the top to continue uptrend & going to max. target 1.4828 anytime in this week if not this session . Again see no any condition to break it down this pair.the old /past movements in the charts & all assumptions as per it not enough for any real life beats .

after breaking initial uptrend a small downtrend developed visible on the 1m and 5m charts which hit a bottom at around 1.4560...the reason i mentioned it is because if the pair continued up right away...that was the key moment to possibly enter trade..at least for me...instead a sideways channel developed since then negating any patterns....this being sunday and not much to pull the pair down the movement is erratic at best but i agree a clear overall trend up

think about it....700 billions new printed money gonna support usd?eur/usd may cap around 148.00 till we know the official approuved plan revealed...once we have confirmation eur/usd will shout up right at 200 ma!
700 billion rescue success=market stabilised=carry trade....carry trade + 700 billion negative impact on the dollars = carry trade 9 pair against usd & sideline u/j!
If the package failed to be approuved =market collapse,usd crash and maybe introduction of the amero....big rushing redemption,civil disorder,martial laws and 2 miles long UFO in the sky by october 14th and why not a strike on IRAN and more trouble with russia...All in All its the end of the world :O

Personally, I think one should not remain in market now, 10:30 - 12:00 GMT usually produces serious spikes. Zurich and London traders close positions before going off to lunch. Same when NY opens.

can someone give me a helping hand here.how does the price of gold affect this currency pair?right now the price stands at 876.07.pls how will this pair be affected if the price drops or rice above this number?

IF forex market is quiet and for some reason gold / oil do sharp move, EUR likes to follow those moves.

But last 2 weeks it was very irrational and decoupled. Today it is much better.

Get yourself some graph subscription which shows gold / oil in same resolution as the one you are used to trade on. Also Volume is quite important IMHO.

the general idea is when gold goes up dollar goes down just like most commodities. the specifics with gold is people in general run to a "safe haven" when market conditions do not favor a high risk currency like the dollar. still you shouldnt use as a guide to your trading, just like oil, rather you should use more as an indicator to gauge market sentiment

good example right now...note that oil has gone down in last half an hour or so yet eur/usd broke up...still the fact oil is higher for the day is a good indicator of the market sentiment

FxPro MT4 demo has oil and gold (oil is under futures, #CLV8).

I have asked this question before. Ed I don't prefer the 15M but if it makes you a lot of pips who am I to judge? I prefer the hourly chart if I am scalping I am working with 30M. Since last Friday this beast has been a bull. Remember Never get caught on the wrong side of and angry bull. Remember when I said something about it changing direction on the 17th? I was looking at the daily chart, and Guess what? It did change. Before my 1H rells me something about bears being out of the woods I stay off the bears camp.

@1.4466 closed at 1.4616.
Some RSI Resistance.
I prefer longs until 1.47.
I will enter again below 1.4550.
Price can even not go below 1.4580, no news today, low volatility.

if your wondering what is todays choppy nonsense all about dont forget its sunday and its low volatily. this whole move up has been in expectation of the us session and the bail out plan. it has not been a smooth ride and probably will not be any time soon but heres an indication of when to consider entering a trade....buy on any dips that get close to the bottom trendline of this uptrend channel....that or if for whatever reason its broken...sell....
