Would be careful with long now. I know all fundies make it sound that for the dollar to go up again is ridiculous, but fundies don't mean much here short term - if it were that simple we'd all be rich already... Big boys like good buying locations.

It is also a long standing tradition. This pair flies through S/R points like a knife through a butter when I position myself for retrace. And only then.... On most other occasions it will bounce hard.

There is a possibility FED will cut rates, 2 year treasuries at 1.78. It doesn't makes sense to have FED rates higher. Cramer said (I know, lol) if they bailout AIG they will have to cut...so...

What is it doing now. Seems to be right at the pivot 1.4173. At least that is that pivot I have. I always wonders if my charting is correct.

For me it looks like EUR is playing with USD, EUR always hits back quite easily after US move.
They think they are smarter than I am.

Sometimes it's a good thing when your broker's platform doesn't load. This is pure indecision, don't advise anyone to trade it, big or small range. Gonna eat and go to the sea or something.

Growth risk and inflation risk. How can dollar rally in the face of that?

Going to set stops to break even I guess and go work on the basement.

since you said speculation...heres a completely speculative comment...after big news dollar usually gains big time right away...this is not the case just like last thursday/friday...this is merely a small retracement to 50%fib (last weeks low this weeks high )...dollar cant rally big time now...means euro will

thats speculation

Lehman bankruptcy could hurt Germany's deposit protection fund. The German subsidiary of Lehman is a member of the deposit protection fund (Einlagensicherungsfond) of the German Banking Federation (BdB) and the bankruptcy could hit the fund with up to EUR 6B, according to Handelsblatt reports. The German paper reports that the fund is currently worth only around EUR 4.6B, while the total credit of Lehman's German subsidiary reportedly amount to EUR 14.3B. The highest amount the deposit protection fund ever had to pay was EUR 1.3B back in 2002, for the near bankruptcy of Schmidt bank. The fund also had to pay 950 m for the IKB bank earlier in the year and helped with Duesseldorfer Hypo, for which a buyer is sought at the moment. Direct losses of individual institutions from the Lehman bankruptcy are rumored to amount up to EUR 400M for individual institutions.
Amid growing concerns for Europe's largest economy, the news failed to trigger a rally in the U.S. dollar (EUR/USD pair), and remains range-bound between 1.4135 and 1.4270.
