1.4090 is acting as strong support for the time being. i would do one of two things here.
1)wait for another pull back to that point and buy with 15-20pip stop loss
2)wait for the news, and trade the reaction to the news
I would risk it to enter before the news, maybe I'll enter at 1.4090 and add more if it could go lower than that at 14.. if as expected.. 4180 is my target, from there I would go short for the pullback then readd long, things could change depends on the reaction yes good point

Are you in the US?, its still raining in the UK as it has for most of Aug & Sept, the last time we saw the Sun people were pointing at the sky like Aztecs seeing a jumbo jet LOL.
Poor guys, I was in the UK in late 90s for a few weeks in the summer and the weather was sunny most of the time. Global warming huh.. 
to be frankly Im still bearish since month ago.. until any significant/improving EURO good growth data then I will turn to bullish.. but of course this is just my opinion fundamentally..

btw...i too see 1.4165/95 as next potential target but you never know..this whole week US news has been terrible and dollar got stronger...
at 1.6 many made the argument the euro was way overbought but still some said it can go all the way up to even 2.0(crazy right)
now at 1.4 some say the dollar is overbought but still some say it can go lower. fundamentally yes europe is weak but we are not exactly the picture of health either, all you gotta do is look at the financials. still most of us are intraday traders and we dont care about what happens tommorow or next week, just about the moment right

Edit:i am both a scalper and also play a trend if i notice a breakout, I've been in and out since the low yesterday all long. That channel between 1.3900 and 1.3950 has given me many pips but a long position from 1.3897 to 1.4015 and then 1.3975 to 1.4090 gave me even more pips. i am not the noobie i once was trading against the trend, that day ended, wednesday hehe
