I don't think it is that difficult.

But I do not like this style of trading for forex, for emini futures yes, but not for all forex pairs. Potential pairs are usd/jpy and eur/usd, things that move fairly slowly, good chance of being one of the leading pairs and spread/commissions are low. This is better done in the Asian session from what I have seen. Account for the asian fade as well.
Risk to reward is often less than 1:1, but win:loss ratio is good.

Again not my style. But I have seen it done and gains plus 200% in 3months. The action is fast, you need to have your finger on the trigger at all times and read the tape. You also need to know your pair and it's nuances.

I want to clear that scalp talk one more time.

I’m a scalper and I think I’m a good one. I do it because I simply don’t know how to trade medium or long term.

Basically scalping is similar to long or medium term trading but on small timeframes, as small as seconds.

The scalping is VERY, VERY dangerous for someone that doesn’t know how to manage it well.

I opened an ACM account (they have a system called “you get what you click”) with no slippage and a 2 pips spread on a 10k account, for me the best for scalping, I did it for about 1 year on demo before switching to Live. I have made thousands of trades (sometimes more than 300 a day) to become firm and understand the moves on EUR/USD. Every pair reacts different!

I use 5-10 pips SL that get hit about 30% of all trades (sometimes I don’t use SL at all), I have always 2 orders for one call, I take profit at 5-10 pips on one order the other I run till I see it gets to the opposite side.
Getting stinky fingers because of trying to catch the button like SunTrader said is part of my scalping as well(that burned me out at 8.8.8).

I use as indicator only pivots (S&R) , SAR and RSI, others are TL, and 50 – 00 numbers and most of all candlesticks. Another screen with price line, SAR and 3 EMA’s to have a different view of the movements. As less indicators, as better the overall view. Another screen with overall view of $ related currencies, gold and oil.

The best trading time for me is the overlapping London and NY session (30 min after and before overlapping occurs) but sometimes I do the Asian as well.

You will never see me here in the thread when I’m trading (I mentioned that in an earlier posthttp://www.forexfactory.com/showpost...ostcount=27591) because that would blow my account in one day maybe. I need 100% attentions on the candles on 1M 5M 15M and 4H chart and there is no time at all for any other activity.
With all the attention I make stupid mistakes sometimes like buying GBP instead of EUR, that’s because of the high stress produced by this way to trade.

This is the most difficult way to make money in Forex (but may be the most lucrative one too) and I would like to learn to do it on another easier, longer term way ( I have 50 years and can’t do it all live long), but that takes time, I’m working on that and it’s the reason why I follow this and other threads.

AGAIN, this is no work for traders that recently stepped their nose in FX but if you desire and like action, try it on a demo, get 3 month in row with a positive result and then go live if you feel so.

Before blowing money scalping in a live account, use it for education, buy some books and spend weeks and months to study before going live.

You need to invest in a business to make it a good one. (BTW: time is money as well)

I had recently some PM’s , asking me if I can teach that stile, I can’t because of lack of time and another important thing in scalping, more than 80% is feeling and experience and that you can’t teach at all.

From what I saw in the thread, acumen is doing something closed to my method but on his stile and I’m sure he will second what I say.

I think scalping is the only way to beat this market IMHO and thats basically all I have done for over 4 yrs now fulltime. Record is 199 in a row and counting as I type this. Yes it can be done and profitably over the long haul, it requires patience and sometimes long hours but the results are worth it.
the statement does not allow for partial pip trades so it does not tell 199 in a row but count them, I like this account for scalping because of the fractional pip possibility it give me. Dukascopy is faster and I use both.

I can't scalp to save my life! I've tried though. I'm probably one of the longer term traders in this thread though. My average trade time is over 5 days.
Anyone who thinks scalping is a walk through the park probably has not scalped successfully for more than a year.
