You usualy do the oposite of what others do and you should have done pretty well today.
Most of us wanted to go long and I was shure you have been short.

yeah

i lost my gold finger touch..

oh welll..

i really have no confidence in short trades now.. todayall my trades are short at most hour or so,, always wrong side..

previously.. when i do hours/ day kind of trade.. i survive..

sorry mate.i am still hedged since last week so all i have been doing is stare at my big screen.hoping this would bottom soonest.what is wrong with crude.112 thats reaally freaakish

That sounds very good, so if you feel more comfort with longer term trades just don't scalp short time and you will have better results on your calls.
Especially in these crazy days you will be doing better on that.
I earnd a lot of pips today in not trading (no losses), thats trading too.

hi guys,

Been reading the forum quite a while.....

like to ask why up??

as my chart i am using the bollinger band showing daily is narrowing and possible to see 1.4585 and possible of breaking downwards. same goes to 4 hrly TF.

Hi JMX, you are right, EUR, GBP and AUD are sitting on psych levels, if they don't break them we will have a possible long oportunity, still didn't trigger any signal.

Did you read this somewhere? If I recall correctly, the term oil reserves refers to a strategic amount of oil that would be saved/reserved for a longer term crisis. As far as Gustav goes, and in reference to gasoline, there is still a certain amount in storage tanks at refineries, at gas stations and other storage facilities currently unaffected by the storm. Maybe these would be used up in X number of days. Then, there would be a problem possibly considered longer term.

If I am in error about this... please let me know.

Oil prices fall after rising on hurricane

Oil prices fell on Monday as traders banked profits won on news that Hurricane Gustav had forced the suspension of almost all US energy production in the Gulf of Mexico.
Crude prices have pulled back since opening higher, as market participants believe the impact from Hurricane Gustav ... will not be as bad Hurricane Katrina" on oil installations, said Sucden analyst Nimit Khamar.

US officials had said on Sunday that more than 96 percent of Gulf oil production and 82 percent of natural gas output had been stopped in the face of Gustav.

About one quarter of US oil production comes from the Gulf, while the United States is the world's biggest energy-consuming nation.

However Hurricane Gustav, which on Monday lashed the US state of Louisiana with torrential rain and gale force winds after forcing nearly two million people to flee, was not expected to be as bad as the Hurricane Katrina disaster of 2005.

"We think the market is well supplied, if not oversupplied," said Ghanem, whose position is equivalent to that of oil minister.

Falling demand for crude oil because of a slowing global economy has caused oil prices to drop in recent weeks from their record highs of more than 147 dollars a barrel reached in July.

Some members of OPEC, which produces about 40 percent of world oil, have expressed concerns over the recent fall in prices, sparking speculation the cartel could cut output if the price falls below 100 dollars.

Ugh, not liking the lack of follow through on the downside, but still short. Pulled my limit to cover, no target until today's close. I'll update after rollover.

This game is about patterns and probabilities.

Here's one you will see time after time.

It's accuracy is high - don't have any percentages so I'll make one up.

I'm guessing it's around 85%.

Price is headed south and moves to a .20 level. (.4620 in our example)

The next level is a 00 psych level. (The strongest psych level)

Price hits the .20 level and bounces. (Critical for slow moving markets)

Once price returns to the that level AFTER the bounce it will move to the .00 level the majority of the time.

My entry was 5-7 PIPS below the .20 level.

Shortly after the entry price moves to .4600 and then bounces off that level. (Quite a coincidence - NO)

After the .00 is hit price returns to a confluence of S1 and the .20 level.

I would encourage you to incorporate this strategy into your existing system.

Most of the oil platforms in the gulf were evacuated, and now it looks like Gustav is going to hit more west than originally thought. More towards Houston area and is holding at Cat 3. There seems to be a feeling that the Oil production (for the moment) has dodged a bullet.

It will still take a few days to get everyone back and on line, but it appears that the worse case scenarios that were being watched this weekend will not happen.

Let us continue to pray that the Hurricane continues to downgrade and the loss of life and property will be small.
