well... if you go to the elliot wave site they´ll probably say that your wave count was wrong and also prove it, and that they are correct and prove it also, now that the movement is done...

There is always a chart pattern or EW to explain, after the fact, what happened. Obviously by then it is too late.

Like anything it just takes time and experience to understand price movement and it is a never-ending learning experience.
What a lot of traders don't understand about Elliott Wave is it is just like any other trading technique. Not 100% so when it fail it is best to stand aside or trade with the failure.
Crude unchanged. Big drop $0.75 in last couple of minutes.

Sun Trader, I ask you once in an email how you Fib the last north move up to 1.60 but I didn’t get a response, I want to take the opportunity as you are online. There was a range in 2006 (marked) do you take that range in consideration and fib from the end of 2005 (blue line) or start after the range at the end of 2006 like I do?

If EW and chart patterns tells very late then what is the method to find the trend? Normally I trade on 1hr/15m/5 stochastic but try to do trading on trend side and normally in 5 to 10 pips I am exit.

What is the mean of price action because when I saw one min chart and see big candles in one direction then i get in and out for small pips... is it that price action?
i wish i had a crystal ball.to know where this market is going.i need some pips before the market closes

Sorry probably read pm and meant to respond later and forgot. Good to remind me.

I would draw from point I marked (11/18/05 as it is the swing bottom of the move down from end of '04 since this is a long term look. But I unerstand what you were getting at about ignore that range period and only consider from the breakout.

I'd say in EW terms that sideways action is a wave 2 of 5 so 11/18/05 date is beginning of the wave 1 of 5 of a larger wave and should be used as the point to draw fibs from.

What do you think?

sorry to bug in... if you look at the monthly charts, there is a clearer low on Nov. 2005.

Does it help to go for fibs that far?

Oil hasn't hit 114 yet today (which it should), so we'll see where Euro goes.

I am moving my exit to 4592; it was at 4627.

114 ... mmmm now you tell me . I had target 114.75 and closed at 115.30 as i thought I would be pushing my luck on Friday before the long weekend.

Now flat on oil futures going into the weekend.

Last part first, yes that is price action.

In first part I didn't say EW and price patterns tell very late. I said like anything else they sometimes fail. So you set your stop loss and it is hit, you then consider going the other way.

Meaning if EW says a 3 wave correction should take place and it goes beyond that point that must mean it will be a 5 wave instead. Adjust trade planning then.

Trading failures can sometimes be more profitable, .... much more.
Oil stabilised around $116. Pits close in 1/2 hour. So electronic will probably drag after that till 5:15pm close. Famous last words.

I really have problems with that. Your point of view is interesting and is what I expected as your answer. But if I draw it my way we are at this point at 32.8 Fib and could await a retrace to the 1.50 area. I really don't know, I will research a bit during the weekend.

Add: the market was in that range (half year) in an indecision and then started do buy EUR, I see it as a new trend from there on, that's why I draw it that way, I might be wrong.

oil is drivng the usd all over the place. Due to storms and Russia unrest and MANIPULATORS of oil futures ... lol .. oil is ALL over the place , making EURUSD hard to trade. The long term trend is still down and I doubt we will see a break of 1.5000 , so shorts are the best way to go ...

Or if trading it for 30 - 50 pips trade only when awake and you can ,monitor and Close and reverse position if you are wrong.

Oil moved up in bear flag last night to stop almost dead on that 118.4 level , from where she was an awesome short.

sorry but had to flag this one ... that statement alone 'NEED to 'may make you force a trade .. and it may be the wrong trade.

You do not need to be in the market all the time and you do not need to make pips every day .. as long as at the end of the year you make profit is what counts.
