Yeah good catch. Thought it might draw more attention spelling it that way. I had typed out the word "why" originally.

But really in the end it is useless to think the news hounds would do anything different.

I kind of look at news like the weather. It is going to happen anyway so why worry over it.

Sure... moves are exaggerated due to upcoming holiday and end of the summer book balancing.

However - I can find nothing substantial that would cause this kind of move.

The Asian traders often get it wrong - but this move is out of character for them.

I've attached a pivot chart and you can see we are already at R1 before either 'real' session begins.

Normally - this kind of move screams SELL, SELL...but this I don't get.

Either - the Asian names know something we don't (which is very rare) or they are on the wrong side of the trade. (Often the case)

I did see some hawkish comments by this moron (Axel Weber).

His comments, Oil worries, Fred and Fannie and a belief we are oversold could be leading to this move.

Looking at your chart, R1=1.4783 and P=1.4708. I too have looked at your website and downloaded FXIPivots. On my charts they are R1=1.4799 and P=1.4722 on my 15 minute chart. What are your setting?

I'm short right now on some long term plays but you are correct. When something smells like sh#t - it usually is.

Surely don't pick tops and bottoms - that's a suckers game.

Pivots and psych levels work like magic during intra-session moves.

Like anything - it just take some time to get a feel for it.

Price just moved below R1 and I believe we will see a move to the pivot point but my confidence on that trade right now is about 40%.

It may reach 1.4800-1.4815 and after that, it's a good time to go short.
My T/P is 1.4810 . Actually, put 1/2 position T/P at that lvl and the other half @ 1.4850 (aggressive tp) if it continue to go up.

i hope to reach 1.48 soon.. as GBP news in 3 hours.. may affect this pair.. am prob shorting... since high enough for good short.. what u think FXO?

My chart gives me R1 in 772 but my broker is british so I have London time, that will be the difference.

Mike, you may not remember but we had this conversation when I first started studying your Pivot method. I'm not sure why your pivot is different than most of ours. I might add that, while I still apply your method, I switched to SDX-TzPivots because it also provides midpoints.

i am shorts already,but these asians really scare me with the way they move the charts.no reasons whatsoever.they just choose a direction and up or down we go

I'll hold on to my T/P of 1.4810.
If you're already long, just put tight SL so if the market goes down, you won't lose much.
My entry is 1.4729 and put my SL @1.4755 so it's a win win for me.
As i said, a re-test of 1.48 maybe on the way.
