Did you notice that the price got frozen several times and picked fast up and down for a second?
Last time I saw that we had a 150 pips move.

EU up become euro up (officer ECB told something yesterday + usd weakens)

GU down, gbp weakens bcoz priced in action for incoming rate cut. Although usd also weakens at the same time, but the rate of gbp faltering is faster than usd.

The 2nd bottom doesn't have to be everytime higher but it works better if it is.

Equal bottom is good but it definitely works poorly though if the 2nd bottom is lower.

And if you say differently then just consider it a difference of opinion and leave it at that.

Anyone got pending short orders? I got a short at 1.4809 and plan to ride it back down to 1.46 area tonight.

You might be on to something. Seems Asian sessions are more interesting in August.

I must agree that this is quite baffling.

Sure... moves are exaggerated due to upcoming holiday and end of the summer book balancing.

However - I can find nothing substantial that would cause this kind of move.

The Asian traders often get it wrong - but this move is out of character for them.

I've attached a pivot chart and you can see we are already at R1 before either 'real' session begins.

Normally - this kind of move screams SELL, SELL...but this I don't get.

Either - the Asian names know something we don't (which is very rare) or they are on the wrong side of the trade. (Often the case)

I did see some hawkish comments by this moron (Axel Weber).

His comments, Oil worries, Fred and Fannie and a belief we are oversold could be leading to this move.

Strange days indeed... most peculiar momma.

Another thing that I'm wondering is the USD/JPY are climbing together with the EUR, what the h##l is going on?
