I'd like to say a few words about this Asian session thing. This is more deductive reasoning than factual knowledge but somehow I doubt it's far from the truth, of course do correct me if I'm worng please. The banks, hedge funds and entities that generally move the market are not going to sleep and letting their money float free out there, ever. So to say that what happens during the Asian is no indication, at least when talking about breaking major resistances, channels and so on I don't think is correct. I believe that because the local markets are closed at this time in Europe and the US, and these have an affect on forex, all these guys simply trade lower volume during this time. Occasionly there might be a spike here and there because of it when someone suddenly pushed the market hard unexpectedly but in such cases when the spike was against the general direction the market wants to go at this time - it's quickly reversed and returns to where it was. So on the other hand, if we're talking about a move that lasts for a few hours, even if it is the Asian session, I believe it is because the market wants it to go there - more or less the whole market, and it's not like a couple of bullies came along and took over the market because of the low volume.

acumen, malcomb has been a tremendous asset on the aus gy thread for a long time, and I always back read every one of his posts when trading the beast.

malcomb, I haven't followed acumen's posts here as long as yours on the aus thread, but he's on my short list of people here that i listen carefully to about eu if i'm seeing something different, and would give me cause to reconsider...

decided to trade base on just 2 factors

1) long term fundamentals
USD is getting stronger vs euro /gbp

2) medium / short term trends on daily and hour


now both tells me short.
