Hard to say, we are still finding our way through the DIBS method. Traders will always trade a method to their individual style.

My trades go like this : -16 pips, - 22 pips, break even, break even, + 67 pips, -11 pips, + 273 and growing and adding, -27 pips, break even, + 88 pips, - 15 pips, + 47 pips and growing and adding, etc.
Indicators show the past. Price Action "Indicates" the future.

I hope my posts will be useful for one or other who want to trade with DIBS.
But I think there isn’t much new, that I can say to the DIBS.
I try to describe the way I trade DIBS method.

jaroo when you close half your position at say 20 pips to give you a free trade and then you let the other half run and you end up closing the second half at say 100 pips .......how many pips would you say you took in that trade ?
just wondering how you figure things as everyone does it differently i've found

Nice going mate! I don't have the stomach to trade the crosses as I find them a bit erratic and they don't like me as well

We possible IB set-ups on EUR/CHF and EUR/AUD. I'll be trading long if they hold until the top of the hour. Anyone else seeing these possible opportunities?

OK. EUR/AUD's inside bar set up just evaporated according to my charts. So I'm only looking at EUR/CHF for long at the top of the hour.

WEll it was a good trade...worth me staying up all night ...just to make sure nothing missed me....

what part of the world are you in?...i am really lucky as i am in the UK so easy trading hours.

I've been thinking of your earlier question about how to manage your trade once your in postive pips. Trying the best way to answer it. As you said, everyone does it differently according to their own individual style, tolerance, etc.

I feel the answer lies with the higher time frames. Looking for S/R levels, Price Action, etc. and hiding your stops above/below these levels.

This Usd/Jpy Daily chart shows S/R level, trendlines, Price Action, etc. If you enter long at the big blue line at 104.40 on the hourly, where would you trail your stops?

Kimmy i'm in Jamaica...now when everyone is about to get up i am about to go to bed...i really think this DIBS method will tie in nicely with everything else i know....stop loss is way better . Need to buy that nice sports car for meself soon so i hope i can steady my wings...lol

thanks jaroo yes i understand what you are saying. i am working on S/R levels etc my question was also about how you add up your pips for a trade ? as you split the trade into 2 do you count it as 2 trades ?

Although as you say it's one trade split in two, I have to take two separate trades in order to set different s/l levels. It's then easier to relate my records to my brokers if I record it as two trades.

I dont know about you guys but I am getting the feeling that today and tommorrow price action is going to be choppy due to the nonfarm on friday....what do you think? Warning: Not a prediction...just chatting while I sit on my hands.

yup i agree moneda......i got stopped out of my GY short with the news spike . i think that it may even be unwise to trade at all for the next 2 days

Kimmy,

I consider sitting on your hands, accepting a loss, not allowing a winning trade turn into a looser and staying out during major news releases, the most difficult things that I have to deal with....getting much better but this will be a lifetime challenge. Today was a good example on how I lost 28 pips instead of 60 with the gbp/jpy by closing my trade before US news. We all trade different timeframes but regardless of that, we need to keep reminding ourselves that results/success is a long term strategy!
