Can you explain what you mean when consolidation occurs on the chart? I have a pretty good idea and can tell what the indicators do as th emarket moves, but maybe you can explain a little bit more about how the indicators work together. What things do you look for to indicate a trend and what to look for for verification?

agree ... hence my comment earlier....... could be any reason for it doing what "experts" said should not happen... also agree never get involved with the news... let the dust settle get in with the move and get out ... you cant fart against a hurricane.......... and expect to NOT to smell it ...

There's still one uptrend line that wasn't broken on EU.

Bulls are still up.

So there was alittle retrace.... got a few pips

On a short trading day like today when the market closes at 1PM, do we use that as the close or continue on to 5Pm since the World Market is still open?

Is there any reaction in TOKYO session ???? Is it going down again ?

Ok It's after 5 PM, here's what I calculate for the High, Low Close

High : 106.92
Low: 105.77
Close: 106.71

Someone check my work please..

Let's see...

After confirming that USD/JPY had been stalling at around fibo 61.8, I entered short @ 106.74. The initial target is the Kijun line area, 106.22.

100% reliable short target is 106.47 - the daily pivot. Allow up to 2 pips for spread

What is truly interesting is that the bottom of the 1 hour trend line is at the 106.22

Is USD ignoring "the most telling economic indicator, or will it also continue ignoring it for the next coming months?

Dispelling the Myths of Summer

Well, maybe as long as the FED keeps intervening in the currency market, USD may not fall as it did in the last summer and in March this year...I doubt it. Meanwhile, the BOJ will probably raise the rate going into next year.

The USD is strong, because the asians invest in it, especially the saudies. Imagine the welth they will gather with high oil prices and strong dollar. People still say, that the oil's price is driven by the cheap dollar, but I am convinced that it is wrong. The oil fields are drying out, that is one of the main reasons why the saudies don't want to boost production. On the other hand the price of food is rising, also because of need and not weak dollar. And yes, those in the desert need lots of strong dollars to buy it. I don't really believe that the oil will go down bellow $120/B Those days are over. So is true for the commodity prices. they will corect but to a much higher level then they were before, and stay steady and slowly bullish for the next 3 decades, when they'll spike again. Approximately these are the cycles. And these cylcles may look like boubles (and somewhat they are...). But they are only to set a new level. Inflation just rises, never goes backwards. After all there aren't any more 50C stores out there, are there?
