beat a retreat from GU just before noon with 8 pip gain...manual exit as did not feel comfortable with price action

...i see a daily pin-bar (UJ) printed yesterday as price moved about the former resistance area of April/May. I think the odds favour a push north even though we're in shorts only mode today....just something to bear in mind.

Edit:....similar reasoning applies to EU and UCHF.

Saw it, check across the major, u will see the same thing but seems they are all defective pin-bar.


A good pin-bar should be distinct and outside the cluster of candles.

Yep, but I got thrown off before when it dipped down to 105.24ish then came back up through my stops, then the news went off. Good thing for stops
Looks like it has been a tough weeks for DIBS? Maybe with the US Hoiliday on the 4th?

hey guys,

I've been noticing that the setups early in the morning (around 1-2am EST) tend to be highly variable. Today for example, both setups on the GBP/USD and USD/CHF went one way, stopped out, and then trended well in the opposite direction.

Is there anyway to mitigate these whipsaws, and to not get suckered in for the first setup? I guess you could always wait, but sometimes it doesn't give a false setup, and it just explodes in the direction of the breakout, barely leaving you time to buy in before you're at 1:1. Thanks.

It is my understanding that we must take the good with the bad. In the end there should be more good trades then bad! Using the other side of the inside bar to set stop loss should keep loss to a min.

But I am still learning

Why would you want to do that?.. An IB is an IB - if it occurs at the right time, why not consider it (and the situation as whole) regardless of its length?..
