The DIBS Method... No Free Lunch continues
So much confusion!
I do as you mentioned. Look at the FF box at left upper corner (It gives you the remaining time to the market open to... no math skills needed...) and draw a vertical line at the London Open. I use too (cause I like those Firefox add-ons...) FoxClocks . It displays any place's time in the status bar. I have Tokyo, London and NY on it.
Please fellows... Just draw the vertical line...

... It's a Secret Weapon! They keep me on the "hot foot"..... Oh... I think there were something around here about a "hot hand" ..... ???? I guess I'll have to change my indicator to some kind of gloves... Maybe I'll try to use the slippers on my hands! Ok, I'll try to code the EA... maybe sell it on e-bay later...

Again, even if it's off by an hour it won't effect your trading to any great extent. If you look at Peter's chart it looks like it's set to CST in the USA and not GMT.
I would even go as far as suggesting if your bar is 1 pip over qualifying as an inside bar you may want to trade it as an inside bar. Check out your charts and see how many times your a pip or two off, but the trade goes off just like an inside bar trade.

I totally agree with you (and Peter Crown... he said that...) 1 hour difference won't have so much effect... but If I were in doubt were to set my daily open (which I'm not), I would set it on London time or 1 hour before (Frankfurt), never 1 hour later, cause the big movers sometimes wake up early... ... "Free trade" is just an expression. We understand that it's not "free". It just a point in a trade where no loss will occur.

Usually a MT trading method (which to my understanding DIBS mainly is) tries to give answers to questions like: what is the direction of the price, ie. trend, and what would be a good spot to enter.
DIBS uses daily open and price position against the daily open level as a tool for determining the trend. Not only a daily trend, but a long term trend, as DIBS profitability is based on those rare runners of several hundreds pips. Well, that does not feel very reliable way of determining the trend, does it?
The method of entering is IB, in the direction of the trend. Lets say that a pair is in uptrend, so the best way to enter is to buy on dips. Probably the developers of the method had noticed that price movement slows down when a dip is turning to uptrend again, and IBs are likely to be found there. But that is possible only if the dip bottom happens to be above the daily open level. That does not feel very effective either.
Both the way DIBS determines the trend, and entering practice are kind of "primitive" and error prone. There are far more better tools for determining trends and entries. For instance, using IBs may be a low risk entry method, but at the same time it brings along all the problems of noise, ie. one pip may stop your entry for a several hundred pip move.
In spite of the previous I believe that it is possible to make money using this method.
On the other hand, why to use DIBS, as there are better and more profitable tools to do the task?

but as I mentioned before, the method (every method) must be discretionary. And, in my opinion, the long therm trend is a beautifully rear-view mirror picture. Nobody knows, when it is developing, how long it will last. Does anybody knows, for sure, if we are seeing a correction on EUR/USD, clearly down-trend since late April, or a reversal? Nope, cause this wold be predicting the market...
