I would wait untill after housing starts come out at 10 before doing anything. Over all trend is up and current wave is up, not a smart place or time for short.

however... I love Linear regression channels... Look the breakout of that previous channel... and now how it is going up in this new channel... I won't be short until break of this channel...

I started by using channels. Then I noticed that its not much different than pitch forks. So I started using both. Then ended up only using the forks.

My mistake, not starts but new home sales. I have my fingers crossed hoping they show improvement like existing home sales did. Then we could see a short opportunity.

Edit: but poor new home sales could send price up to the 1.5880 range where a median line from a fork is.

Yes.. I'm in the phase of using both now...
I'll be watching carefully your forks here... because I still don't know how to draw the points of them properly I think. But as I see I think they are more predictive of the slope of a future possible trend than channels with the same number of bars of information. So.. in this way... channels can be great to find ultimate support or brek of trends... and forks can be useful to predict slope or direction.

Not a real big surprise for USD New Home Sales, but still to the upside... However, nervousness still abound, most likely due to good EUR news and weak USD Durable goods. I myself am indecisive on which direction EU will head. Anyone have some more insight?

maybe this is interesting ...
the fork David mentioned target at 1.58.. coincides with the midline of the daily channel. What do you think? and also a round number... seems a nice target.

Follow the oil. Follow the trend. I still haven't figured out if oil leads EU or the EU leads the oil, but they have a tie with the ups & downs. WTI oil up 2.3% currently and I'm up 1%ish. See charts below.

Very good point. I think the value of USD has a very strong inverse effect on Oil, so USD goes down and Oil goes up (EU up, too). No idea as to which leads which, though. Thanks for the input!

Based on 5 minute chart horizontal trendline support is at 5700 and resistence at 5750. I would prefer to buy above 5750 or sell below 5700 for 100 pip profit and 50 pip stop loss either side.

I'm just curious... What in the last 6 months indicates that EU is too weak?

I think oil might be driving the EU.. WTI up 3.51% and I'm up 4.0% so far. It's nice to have a relatively calm day so far. EU seems to lag a bit.
