All i wana say is Entry to the system is nice .. exit need to be fine tuned for early exit before it crosses back for another Entry signal i am attachin and indicator for EMA Cross Signal hope that helps !

Question : Say that the RVI gives me a signal signal.. Is there any indication as to how many bars ahead of the RVI signal the EMA cross should occur in order to be considered a good confirmation of that RVI signal? Im sure this varies per time frame.

use the ADX indicator as a exit signal.....it gives the strength of the move and the point of exit as per my chart.

include the trendlines as I have on the chart and you have confirmation of entry and exit....as well....

Well first thanks Sidus for all the hard work I am sure you put into this new version. It seems a little bit harder to follow, but I'm sure in time I will be able to pick up on it.

I am still going to use the old version for now (With a few changes), and slowly as I understand it better I may look into trading the newer version.

I tried to write one but i don't think I have enough info .. the system works on a cross of the RVI followed by a cross of the EMA's. So i was wondering how long (in bars) after the RVI cross would the EMA have to confirm in order for it to be considered a valid signal.

It I think it is easy to code for if these 2 events happen at the same time, but if there is an acceptable lag between them then you have to tell it what that acceptable lag is. I could experiment but I already have about 12 instances of MT4 with various brokers testing EA variations. So my testing real estate is somewhat limited. If we could get consensus about that figure then I may be able to code something over the weekend.

Hi,

I am using the sidus method with some modifications as :

For short range ; 5 and 8 WMA, close.

For longe range ; 10 and 28 EMA, close.

With 4 Hr chart.Set red colour for lowering candle and blue for raising one.


Open Position

Buy only when met with condition A or/and B:


condition A

1. Intersection of 5 WMA with 8 WMA from below.

2. Confirm with the long range ( 10 EMA arweady crossed 28 EMA)- tunnel

3. Emergence of blue raising candle.

Condition B


crossing of tunnel - cross of 10 EMA from below

Close position with the reverse intersection of 5 WMA with 8 , emergence of red candle or at stop loss/take profit levels.


Follow just reverse for sell position.

Buatiful when all the long and short range intersections are coinciding.

Pl. test this strategy and feed back.

yes, this would be a LONG signal. But be aware the yellow tunnel cross is very very very narrow, so it could be a whipsaw

This is difficult to say! I will try to put it in a schematic timeline:

RVI x1 ---> Tunnel x1 ===> valid signal
RVI x1 ----> RVI x2 ====> signal has been cancelled due to another rvi cross without tunnel confirmation.


So the rvi cross is valid as long there is no counterwise rvi cross

This is very good for traiding. If you want, try it.

I have one question about the EMA & WMA.

Because i don`t find in my metatrader an WMA, is the WMA the normal MA with the option LINEAR WEIGHTED?

In the PDF file you mentioned that the addition of the RVI reduced the number of false signals. How many false signals did this eliminate? Do you have any side-by-side comparisons of the V1 and V2 systems and their respective results? What was the win:loss ratio of V1 and V2 over the same time period?
