I don't think holidays have anything to do with it. Its just taking a while for the results of the rate cut to push through what was bullish momentum. Bulls keep trying to buy dips. Its obvious because of how it chopped its way to the weekly pivot. Then break out traders and long s/l getting hit, took it through the pivot, but now has reached more bulls buying on the extended dip.

If the bulls stop buying dips or slack off then we could see further euro$ decline.
A weekly close below weekly pivot is confirmation of further correction.

I think inlfation is a concern.

30 year T bonds went up 1 point today .. .that is alot.

I think that smart money is monving into T bonds as this will be the biggest money maker in years to come, hence gold went down as money was moved form gold to T bonds.

I also think that the Europeans were getting extremely nervous about 1.60 and even though no one would talk about it, there might have been some significant CB dollar-buying going on.

At these levels I'd think that most of the bulls that held longs in the upper 50's are stopped out.

Gold and oil are both in a bubble - if that starts loosing luster, that would be dollar-positive.

Euro-zone decoupling still looks like an unanswered issue - is it real or is it a mirage? It looks like it's real - so far.

The up you speak of is't showing on my charts. Must be different forex then the one I am trading.

But we have a daily close below weekly pivot. I expect it to come back and retest pivot either to pull back above, or to establish resistance. If it don't happen this week, it will return to weekly pivot next week.
Once resistance is established good point for short. If it pulls back above and weekly close above, then good place for new longs.

Since the market is on holliday and still open, lets see if we can catch the wave of a stop hunt. Thin market maybe some one with deep pockets will start pushing in a direction.

I was short from 5450 and just closed... going to sleep, but wouldn't be surprised if it continued downward. However, it is temporarily supported at the same resistance levels of 03/07 - 11. Who knows if it will bounce back or push thru...

yea, who knows.

not that I know anything regarding the future of this pair, but I'm thinking 1.53-ish might see some bona fide resistance. anyone else concur? disagree? let's predict the future, shall we?

the trend says yes, but then again it's been going a while. right now you're kinda flipping a coin if you want to enter a trade.

also, friday is never a good time to enter a trade because volume is down (unless you're going just at the right time before the props are closing out positions, in which case you have a volume-spike - somehow I have the impression, though, that you're not too interested in those details...yet)

I've always wanted to do that. how many lots do you trade in this scenario? In thin market I'm afraid my position gets noticed, causing upheaval.

Surprisingly, volumes are at a decent level today, and price action has been up 50 and down 50 in the last 5 hours or so... I might stick around for a little bit today just to see if I can snag an easy 5-10. Anyone else?

Very Nice! However, I risk my entire account for every trade I make, that way 5-10 pips = 5-10%. K+ on your nice trades, though.
