After backtesting...it shows that your suggestion works much better than the system =D...it clears out a few whipsaws on the hourly.

However u see the whipsaw just before the downtrade in the end where it gives a sell then a buy then then a full sell.....the presence of the 8 ema would have prevented that sell which was a loss.

I will try combining both techniques, the cross over of the EMA's as well as closing the candle above the 21EMA suspensions.

Thankyou very much for your suggestion. It will filter out many bad trades. If I had it earlier I would have prevented the losses of this system.

I don't know man, as I said if it's not broke for you why try and fix it? Here's a mm calculator with a compounding element that i have been using myself. It was posted somewhere on this forum by another kind soul.


(although i could take my own advice here too lol)

looks nice pwramses. thank you for sharing this. i pretty much exclusively trade the 1 hour time frame so this is something that would work well for me. i already set up the chart and am going to be watching it.

one question: do you generally get signals at a certain time - early london session, for example?

Hi to all,

I use the very similar settings MA cross 5 & 20 and I use Stochastic 36,7,3 and RSI 10 with the RSI, I incorporate 8 MA and Bollinger 36, 4. When RSI cross the 8MA gives me the first warning of change. the Stochastic cross gives the 2nd warning and when the RSI crosses the Bollinger centre line and this usually coincides with the MA 8 & 20 cross. This gives the up trend the down trend is opposite.
For and up trend the 8 MA must be below the centre of the Bollinger and vice versa for down trend when the RSI crosses the 8MA.
When all three triggers then you are pretty confident that you will collect some pips.
I do not trigger a buy or sell until all conditions (three triggers) are met.

Well if you have test your system and it's profitable for you than come on dont shy... Publish your system in forexfactory Trading system department with screenshot's...

95% for six whole months,i dont fix it unless it able to make it 99%

I think alot of threads die because people take a simple profitable system and add this and take away that and after about 20 pages the system is nothing like what it originally was.
If and I say if this system is 95% profitable then why change it, I think we all know that the holy grail dosent exist, forex dosent allow that, lets all try it in its original form, post results and just ride the good times.
No offence is meant to anyone. but I understand why threads die, people get confused and lose interest

Nice clean and simple system pwramses! I usually don't like MA's, but your straight forward strategy is intriguing indeed, particularly after a little back-testing on the pairs I like to trade.

Think I finally may have found a strategy that gets me off the lower time frame charts (which may return my blood pressure to hopefully near normal! lol)

But the 'Dragon' can give you heart attacks constantly if you're in a live trade. Personally I MUCH prefer the E/J. Brokerage spread is far less, and while volatility is about 30% less than the G/J, I pop trades with 2 lots instead of 1, and have consistantly made more pips that way trading the E/J instead of the Dragon. For the most part, the E/J and the G/P are extremely similar in movement.
