I hate this nontrending EURUSD market. 2002-2006, where are you????

FED will provide 50 billion USD liquidity this week. This can prevent USD gaining value against other currencies during the week.

These last weeks have certainly made me thinking about strength of Euro.
Insane rate cuts which was partly expected and mostly positive statistics from eurozone. Still it can't breach 1.5.
Of course the volatility in the stockmarket has had it's impact but still.
Going to stay away from this one at least a week.

Will it be Giants or Patriots ???

You have to hear the other part of the story too. The dollar is now getting bought for treasurry, not for need.
The euro was the last pair to retreat from it's hights these days and it retreated much lower then other.
In all this I see euro strenght. We only need some positive days from equities with trade desk selling bonds. Probably then the euro will take start again it's uptrend.

dollar 2 years slide seem to have stopped in the short term as investors are cautious focusing more on growth than interest spreads.
also big dissapointment among euro bulls and now many of them advising their clients to bet on the USD when there are rally attempts to 1.50. and target for short term a slide to 1,45.

also to this, sums up, was last week when euro tried to go 1.50 for bad usa data, interbank orders received big orders for USD and EURO longs very few, totally different with past reactions. interbank Level2 data showed clearly this, also confirmed with a friend who works in a respected broker and kindly confirmed me this data.

my personal opinion : euro is a really dangerous bet right now seeing all the economic skeletons getting out of their closet. and a stubborn Trichet damanging europe equities.
also avoid getting into the trap of going long AUD and NZD for the rate differentials, maybe Aussie is more stable cause gold, but NZD dangerous bet even when has some support from agriculture and tourism, employment and export industry is being asfixhiated cause current currency levels, thre are a lot political pressure going on right now as world economy slows and NZD put thins worse in this matter.
some analysts are even seeing a big drop below 0.65 before June.

prepare for this week, full action and maybe some surprises starting with RBA

I wonder if the outcome of this superbowl will have any influence on this pair ???

Hey guys I have this interesting piece of information I am not to familiar with. I've been told that the superbowl is the number one prediction of the stock market and how it would perform through out the year. If the NFC wins the superbowl the stockmarket goes up, however if they lose the superbowl the makret goes down. Since the giants did win the the superbowl, according to this hypothesis it means the stockmarket should go up, thus leading to an appreciation of the dollar, thus possibly lowering this pair to new low rates in the long run. I am not too sure about this hypothesis, because this is just hearsay from other peopl, has anyone else heard about this????
