DislikedNot trying to speak for Phillip (as in the words of Wayne and Garth from "Wayne's World", I'm not worthy), but there wasn't a MACD signal for your trade. It was a good trade however, based on the market motion off the 8ema on the 4HR (or 21EMA on the 1Hr). Phils trade I believe was a RT (counter trend) also with emotion at the whole number and TL resistance at 1.4800 (see trendline on graph)... The difference, Phils was supported by the MACD signal, and your trade was more in anticipation of a TC, but with good support off an EMA
And in actuality you both had similar expectations (bouncing off the 8ema). Phil took profit there and you entered and took profit off that bounce.
Both show the importance of trade management/expectations.... and executing a plan...Ignored
DislikedHello to all....have just noticed that I was running the Macd v104 on my laptop and my fan to cool the cpu was running almost constantly....checked the cpu usage and it was very high with only one chart open.....finally isolated the problem......Macd v104......downloaded v102 from fxtradeblog.com and cpu usage greatly reduced...... computer runs much cooler, fan hardly ever comes on, battery lasts longer.....and if you are used to having 6 or 8 charts open at once. While running skype and Internet explorer. It can really slow down things.....and who wants their computer to think slow when its time for it to bump up your trailing stop?......
Also for Ryan in regard to seeing the 4hr Moving Averages while on the smaller timeframes... Here is the template i have made for this... It has the 8,21,89,200,365 on the 4 hr and when you move to smaller timeframe it has the close equivalent of the 4hr 8,21,89... displayed as dashed lines along with that timeframes Moving averages.....i.e. you can be looking at the 15 min chart and its respective moving averages and at the same time see where the 4 hr moving averages are on the chart also....here is my template and also a pic of the current 15 min eurusd. If you go down to 5min, the moving averages are from Phillip's 5 min Strategy.... and 1 min is from something else I look at for amusement purposes only.......Pipip.......Jimdandy
p.s. this template uses calls for the v102 macd...Ignored
This is my first post on this thread. I will first express my sincere appreciation for the good job on this 4hr MACD strategy. A powerful thumbs up for the originator Mr Phillip Nel . And to the contributors most especially Palmer, Ryan and a host of others.
It has taken me exactly 2 months to go over the thread and the result has been fruitful.
My question borthers on the entry point in terms of lot sizes.
Do i enter three different lots sizes at the same time and price?
I understood the three stage entry, but how do i enter different lots if there are no retracement of the signal candle?
Your kind reply will be hugely appreciated.
Once again thank you so much for this system.Ignored
I see Phillip comment on 4 pairs, USD/CAD, USD/JPY, EUR/USD & GBP/USD.
Which ones do you actually trade? I believe it is the euro & guppy. Are there others that he comments on that I missed? This thread can clearly be a model for others who want a successful thread.
DislikedHello, i'm looking for bouncing from 8 EMA, MR is +2 to my mind it is good opportunity to buy USDCAD. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
TC as well as perfect motion off the 8ema on 1Hour.
Set stoploss accoring to 1H previous candle.
Could only watch at 08:00 but would have entered 1H earlier due to 1H movement if I was alive.
Entered 108.40 (Was filled at 108.40)
Stoploss 108.65 (1H previous candle)
TP 108.05 and will see how price react at this level. Possible 50% TP and rest at BE. Have set a trailing stop of 25Ignored
