Hello napalc!
I had the same Idea – but…
1. I still don’t have MACD-Signal on my 4h
2. I don’t have clear Signals on my 1h
3. I just feel better to wait for a touch of the EMA 21
4. In 4 hours we will get news for USD/CAD

Thats why I decided to wait some hours more – may be after the news.

But generally I think (If the news will not affect the movement) we will see a nice UP
Ignored
What a signal on MACD i must see? Anyone? coz if i see TC it tells that i must Sell, a little bit complicated...
Nevertheless you are right, it's better to wait for touching 21, or buy from 1.0185. Still waiting...

Mornin all
I took a long TC signal on AudUsd last night on the 0400 GMT(+1) bar.
Got in at .8962, initial stop @ .8931 1 pip below the 8ema with a trailing stop of 20 pips, TP set at .8991 giving me a RRR of almost 1:1.
Went to bed last night down 15 pips, only to wake up with my TP hit for a gain of +29 pips. Making it 7 of the last 9 positive trades.
Building confidence and learning the system.

Of course this is only paper trading for now too.

I got in on the Aussie also last night. Still in on my last Aussie trade (+183 pips now!!) and I added on to the trade when you did (another +40 pips!). I'm not taking profit though until things start to turn around, just moving stops up. Trying to get into more into the mindset of longer term trades with triggers from the 4hr macd, and letting market take me out of the trade.

Hello again

What do u think about buying EURUSD from 9EMA, to my mind it's good idea to place a limit order from 1,9850. What do u think about this signal?

Thank you very much.I'm just learning this system, and it'll be perfect if you answer whether i'm right or not.

Please sir,

I would want to know your entry points at each stage of this trade. Could you please explain clearly how many lots you entered at each stage? Did you use the three stage entry rule? was it at the open, 30% and 45%?
Thanks as i anticipate your kind reply.

Potentail trade setting up on NZD/USD.... "Lower High" on MACD

NZDUSD has been range bound on the daily chart for the past 3 months (.7500 - .7900). At the top of the range now, attempting a 3rd breakout, Nov 7, Dec 12, Jan 14 (See attached daily chart).

4HR chart shows doji last time frame (potential reversal). Would be CT in the 4HR, keep stops close.

I allways enter 2 minilots at the same price(or close to same price) and then manage each lot seperately as I cannot watch my trades live. I can only look now and then therefore I like taking profit after 20-30 pips on 50% and then set the rest at BE or trailing stop or manage it as I get the oppertunity to look.

Thanks Don, --You made me study Phillip's post a little closer than I might have, which is always a good and worthwhile thing to do.

First of all, let me say that I believe we sometimes place too much emphasis on how many lots someone else is entering. That is a very individual matter and depends upon too many factors to be of help to the rest of us. The point each of us has to decide for ourselves is how much we will put on the line. My emphasis is that we have to be comfortable with how much we risk. There's no other way.

Phillip entered all his lots short at 108.40.
Stop was set at 108.65 (-25 pips).
Take Profit was initially 108.05 on all lots (+35).
Edit 1: At the original TP (108.05), he set his stop at 108.25 on all lots (+15).
Edit 2: Price went down to 107.88 and then retraced to 108. Phillip closed half of his position at 108 for +40 pips. He moved his stop to 108.20 on the rest (+20).
Edit 3: Price continued back down. He moved stop to 107.90 (+50 pips).
Edit 4: Price retraced and took his stop out at 107.90 for the remainder of his position (+50).
His total was +40 pips (50% of position) and +50 pips (the other 50%).

If I got anything wrong, you can easily check my figures by going back to his post and clicking on the picture to enlarge it. It's all there.

Entered GBP/USD on retrace of previous 4 hour bar. I wasn't awake to get a good price on the last bar so I set sell limit at 1.9593 and got in (SL" 1.9649). Still a pretty big stop loss (56 pips) but we have some downside potential to maybe 1.9515 or maybe lower.

stopped out at 1.9568 for +25 pips

Good point juang!

napalc:

You mean the 8ema correct? Just be sure to keep an eye on it. The 8ema and price are trending well to the upside....

I closed out my most recent long position for those reasons as well. That engulfing candle is typically not a good sign. May retrace to the 21ema after failing to break the price level .90 (ok it got 2 pips above but not much).

Phillip,
Thanks for pointing out entering in on the retracement of GBPUSD I forgot about using that "trick" I stayed out of the trade due to the large candle. I will keep that in mind next time.

Hi
Just make sure you manage it well and get to BE within 20-30pips as you are entering when the price is actually running the other way.
